My DH came home last Thursday with orders in hand. I am so excited that we are actually moving. I was getting concerned that we would get the typical response of "The Navy is out of money and you need to stay until Oct when the new fiscal year starts." October is not a good time to move with a first grader.

But now I don't have to worry about that. In fact we decided it would be better if we live even a little earlier than planned. So next week when my DH is home again, he is going to arrange our pack out dates and start arranging our plane tickets.

We are going to pack out at the end of May and be on a plane June 1. My DH is going to come with us so he can take his house hunting leave it. Then he will come back to Germany, check out and then come to DC. He reports in mid July and then takes command mid August.

I am so excited and not stressed at all. I just know that God has a house and plan for us when we get there. I thoroughly cleaned the house last week before I knew we had orders. And I have been slowly going through the house for sometime now. After this week I will be done with it all.

Also I called the elementary school I am really hoping my DS will go to and one of the school secretaries is former military. She and I talked and she told me to come in and see her and she would take good care of me. I laughed and said I just needed to now find a house in that district. But I just feel good after talking to her and know that again God has a plan.

Thanks ladies for letting me share. Now I feel like I have told someone and it isn't a ton of people in the shoebox I live in. My DH wants to keep them low key until we have firm plans. But he already told the rest of the senior officers on base - so it will spread I am sure.

Congrats on getting the news and being able to move forward with everything. It can't be easy but it does sound like there are things already falling in to place for you. Good luck with all the moving activities. TFS.

That's great news Bethany. I know you are anxious to get back state-side. I can't fathom international moving. Moving a household across town is stressful enough. Best wishes for an easy move and having everything fall into place in the right order.

My Air Force son and family are in the process also. He will be moving back here after being in England the last few years. We can't wait to have them back.

So glad your DH has orders and you are getting ready to make the move. Sounds like you are already ahead of the game and have things well under control.

I do hope you enjoy Johnstown and your time there. I wish we were going to be there at the same time! But you all will probably be onto your next assignment before we're ready to move.

Well you can always move to pittsburgh wich is only about 70 miles from me & live close to me LOL. i am so happy for you all & welcome home in July!!! keep us posted for the move
