Since Mike's been away, I have bought quite a few CDs. Along with sending him a tune or two through email, I've burned my CDs onto blanks, listed the songs and created CD holders from thick file folders. I am hooked on these file folders!! They are so thick I've used them as my base for postcards.
I painted the files (after cutting a little larger than CD size), glued the CD cover onto the front (printed on cardstock), staple them for the 'look', cover the inside cover staples with twill, staple the file closed (be sure to not staple too far in or too far out! Once I staple, I push the sides together to make it a bit more pliable for the cds to go in without scratching. You can use muslin or fabric on the inside.), list the songs on the back, name the cover at the top, punch a hole in the right hand corner so it can be catergorized and grin over my project. LoL I haven't figured out all the catergories yet ... for heavy metal I use a little itty bitty bolt, for pop ... a pop tab ... now I have to figure out the others LoL I figured for comedy an itty bitty funny pic of the kids ... classical ... a clef or an itty bitty pic of Mozart or such ... if you have any ideas, please, share lol
Hope you like, I love making these!! LoL

On my daughter's cd's, she broke the jewel cases and of course the little booklet thingy that comes inside just vanished all on it's own (I know she lost them but it's okay), so after getting tired of remaking the cd inserts, I decided to make them more simple, haha. For rock n' roll music, I simply used rocks, for pop music, I used soda cans and soda bottle labels, for the oldies songs I used a few pictures of her grandparents and great grandparents, lol. Now she truly loves them enough to care about keeping them put away and not losing them. It's amazing how creative the mind can be and especially amazing to have so much fun with using things in other ways.

To have a friend is to have a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold and an extra pair of legs when yours are too weak to stand alone...
I have been living buried in books and writing classes... as an added note I must say that it is rather scary when you start dreaming and all you can see within your dreams is words floating everywhere!

You girls are just too much fun!! Now you've got me thinking I need to really creative with the CDs I'm giving my brothers for Christmas .... I scanned all the photos my grandma gave me of my Dad's life (he passed away 5 years ago) and since I'm the only one who has these, I really wanted to give them copies (yes, i am scrapping them too but haven't gotten far enough to give albums yet!)
So now I have to come up with some really cute cd covers to slip in there... hmmm.....
