sheriL
I've been rediscovering a love of fonts that I'd sort of forgotten I had, but with all the downloading, it can get to be a little overwhelming. I'm using the Font thing, (which I love, by the way, it's so nice to be able to preview a font more before I use it), and I would like to categorize my fonts, but I have no idea what kind of categories to use - so far I have Scripts/Handwritten, Fancy, and Typewritten. I have tons of fonts that don't fit in those categories, so I'm wondering, what kind of categories do you use?
Barb Hughes
You might check ONLINE LISTS of free and for sale fonts to see what categories they use... I limit the number I actually LOAD in fonts because it slows down the computer... better to print out the samples and load a few as needed for speed considerations. lorac
So far I haven't organized my fonts. However, I just downloaded the free trial version of ACDSee and they have a video tutorial on fonts. I'm still organizing my digi stuff and photos, and my fonts are next on my list to organize. I have so many, and I never know which ones to use because I can't see all of them at one time in one place. Usually have to pick one and then the next, etc. So I never see them all and can never choose which one I like better, so I usually stay with the same few that I know. So, hopefully, with ACDSee, I'll be better able to see what fonts I actually have.
needadietcoke
These posts make me feel guilty about all the fonts I have that I don't use because I have no idea what I have. . . Maybe it's time for ACDSee. . .
sheriL
Thanks Barb - that's a great idea! I really like being able to just say ok, this needs a handwritten look, what do I have, and have the visual of the font that I can get with The Font Thing. It's so hard to see them when you're picking them from the little drop down menu in photoshop.
