Frustrated!

Okay, so when I bought my bamboo tablet, it came with PSE 5... I was stoked cause normally I use CS3 but I have that on my desktop, so I was extatic to know that I could add some more RAM to my laptop and away I go to be able to scrapbook at work too! (I loaded all my "stuff" and pics on a portable ehd.) So I loaded it on my desktop to check it out, cause my laptop isn't ready for it memory-wise. And I don't love it as much as CS3 but it will work just fine for what I want to do while I'm at work... Then tragedy strikes. My DH was cleaning out our back office, and me being the genius I tend to be, I just figured oh well, I need to keep the book and everything to my tablet, so I'll keep all the book, the software and everything in the tablet box. DH thought it was garbage. The whole tablet box got tossed. :( I'm sure you all can feel my sadness. My PSE software is gone, except from my desktop. :( I can't remember whether or not I registered my copy of PSE 5 and if I didn't then Adobe probably won't help me. I don't know what to do... except well of course, cry. Now that DH has finally figured out how to upgrade the memory in my laptop, I get all excited and start tearing apart my office looking for the disc and DH gives me the news...

Any advice for me?

My dh does that all the time. One time he threw away an envelope full of money for my dd PTO, and I was the treasurer!!!! So needless to say I tore apart every garbage bag that was around and Thank Goodness we found it. I know this is of no conselation to you, but You could maybe explain to adobe what happened or better yet get on Wacoms website and maybe you could email them and ask them for advice, being it came with their product. Usually there are serial numbers so maybe they can tell you more about the software that came with it.

Good Luck

Well here's an update, and this may be beneficial for some of you to know...

I called Adobe. They can't send out replacement disks if there is a newer version of the software released. My suggestion of this so that you don't get stuck having to buy new software if "heaven-forbid" anything happened to your disc. Call and ask for replacement disks (even if you don't need them) and have your serial # registered and written down somewhere safe. I think the exact time frame you have to do this is 30 days after the new version is released. That is when they stop manufacturing the older version, and they take away any downloadable versions of it as well.

Second tidbit of information that might be new to some. Anytime you buy any Adobe software, your single serial # is valid for a primary and a secondary computer, so what that means is basically you have two times that you can activate your software on the same serial number. If you are unsure if you have done this before, you can call Adobe and ask, assuming your product is registered. It is very important to register your software, because Adobe will not do anything for you unless it is registered. Ro had mentioned in another post that she can pull up online all her list of serial numbers for all her Adobe software, and I think that is neat neat neat, for the two computers/two activations rule.

My worry is taken care of because once I upgrade the memory in my laptop I will be able to put CS3 on that as well, YAY! I just really can't use it on only 512 MB of RAM. And my poor laptop is only upgrade-able to 1 GB, so its not going to be screaming fast like my desktop, but its the secondary, so it should be fine. I'm next up for a new laptop in our household. Mine's about 3 years old. :( Just so you can imagine, I paid almost $1500 for it and it only has 512MB of RAM, and its not even a dual core processor, but it is a fast one, just not enough RAM for it. Anyway, I'm rambling...

Moral of the story... Register your stuff, and order replacement disks even if you don't need them!!! And Adobe will be good about helping you!
