That Moment

When you look at your child and realize they are no longer a baby/toddler anymore. I just sent Mikaelynn upstairs to change. She wanted to ride her bike, but had on a dress and tights.
She came down wearing boot cut jeans, a polo tee, and ballet flats. OMG, what happened to my daughter? Just that simple clothing change and she looks like she's ready to start Kindergarten any day. She's 4, by the way. I guess I should have seen this moment coming, but it still makes me weepy.
I took a bunch of photos for her today for my photography group - guess I should use this moment and scrap something about this moment, huh?

Oh, April, I look at that picture and don't see someone old enough to have a 20 year old!

dd found a car on line
took car to our mechanic for inspection - it passed
applied for a loan, did not need a co-signer
call insurance company for rates
bargained the sales guy down to what she wanted
closed the deal and will take possession next week
called dad (not MOM) to tell him she was getting new/used car
is she officially an adult now?
Oh and my sis called to tell me her little guy asked and used the potty last night! LOL
Milestones all!

the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference. reinhold niebuhr

It is such a bittersweet feeling to see them growing up and doing well, but having to let go at that same time. Just cherish these days and take lost of pictures like you are doing. You still have many years to enjoy her!
