I bought some of that sheet foam - you know, the kind that comes in lots of different colors, and I'm wondering if anyone has 1) printed on it (ink jet), AND 2) what you do to keep the ink from rubbing off. :) I've got some projects I'd love to do, and this foam would be just about perfect.

Oooh, that's an interesting idea. I have no clue, but I'll be tuned in to this thread to see if anyone else has tried it. :)

I know it would feed through my old inkjet printer, but my newer one is really finicky about what it will take. I'd try it out and let it dry for a while. It will soak up ink since it is like a sponge. Good luck with it.

My Gallery I scrap with Photoshop CS6, but can help with older versions: PS7, CS2 & CS4.

I've never tried it, because I think it's too thick for my printer. Maybe they make thinner stuff?
Let us know if you try it and if it works! Now you have me really curious as to what you're making!

You know who I would ask is Gina (GinaMO) - she has run all sorts of things through her printer for altered art... I've been amazed...

I'll see if I can get her to this thread..

Debi, what would make you think I have tried this? Just because I will run any conceivable flat surface through my printer? LOL

I have put these sheets through my inkjet printer and here is what I learned:
1. If you run them through plain all your ink will soak into the sheet and you will be left with a mess.
2. There is a paint for these and if you put a thin coat of the paint on and dry it well you can print on the resulting sheet.
3. It takes at least 12 hours for your print to cure well.
You can get some fun results tho. Happy crafting.

LOL. Yeah,I tend to be printer-shy. I'm going to have to break out of the box, and start printing more things. Thank you SO VERY much for the info! I'm going to go and look for that paint. Do you have any more info about the paint? Like where to find it? :)

What am I making? I'm making chore charts -- and I thought that foamies would be a fun thing to print on to make "hanging tags." The kids also have some summer projects that they wanted to do that I thought would be cute with some scrapgirls product on them. :)

Thanks for your comments & help! :)

The paint is made by the Foamies company and I got mine at walmart. It was in a squeeze bottle but I just used the edge of a fake credit card (think junk mail here) to spread it out thin and smooth.

Another tip for your chore charts, if you are using on a refrigerator, you can buy printable magnetic sheets that work wonderful.

Or at least my championship in jamming the printer. I have tried some things that wouldn't go. LOL
