Thursday Challenge 07-03-08

What most of you probably don't know is that there is a HUGE celebration going on in my little town today (population less than 2,000 most of the year). It's called Freedom Day. Yes, I realize that there is a bigger holiday celebrated in the U.S.A. tomorrow, but we really like to have this day all to ourselves. ;) There's a parade tonight and fireworks, too. Lots of stuff going on downtown and no where to park. It's a tradition. :)

All the hubbub got me in the mood for a bit of patriotism. Now, I realize that not everyone lives in the same country as me, but bear with me. The "Stars & Stripes" (that's another way of talking about our flag) are big in these parts. To prove it, Janae and I were out and about today and tried to count all the flags. There were more than a three year old with limited English could comprehend. But boy, did she like those stars on the flags. So we put some star-shaped snaps in her hair. And that got me to thinking about the challenge today.

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to do a layout that includes stars and/or stripes. They certainly don't have to be red, white and blue. For that matter, they don't even have to be traditional stars. Maybe you have a movie "star" living in your home. Or maybe you have a fantastic photo with the sun in it (btw, it's a REALLY big star). And the stripes don't have to be traditional stripes either. Maybe ribbons with flowers on them. Or dashed lines. You get the idea, right? Feel free to be as creative as you like. Oh, and the American traditional version of stars and stripes together would be just fine, too. I'm rather partial to that combination since I really like where I live. :)

Just have fun! I can't wait to see what you come up with! I know a few of you are rather creative with my challenges. I won't name names. :D

Please post your layouts HERE! :D

Fun challenge - Although I did a patriotic one (that's the mood I was in today), I'm going to give it another shot later using stars and stripes that aren't "America" related.
