Does anyone use .pat files for backgrounds? What is the difference between using the .pat or the paper? I'm new to this and I had first learned about pattern files then of course was turned on to papers. Is it more beneficial to use paper (.png or .jpg)?

Hmm, I have never tried using one on its own. The "pat" files are generally installed into your program to be used in conjunction with papers and such. What exactly do you mean using it for a background?

Actually, we do sell .pat files here. You can use them to create a background paper. You can also use ScrapSimple Paper templates (and Photo templates) to create background papers. Hey: go wild---use them all together! Yes, you can! That's how you can create layer, depth and dimension to your own papers.

Install Patterns like any tools. Use different blending modes to change them up. They can be really different. Use them as textures, too.

I am not sure about adding it to favorites, but if you look at the top under options you can subscribe to the topic or print it out.
