beejay
I've got some artwork that I want to make into a png. I've deleted and tweeked it all to get it exactly how I wanted it and realized that I did all that work on a white background instead of transparent! Augh... is there a way for me to make that background transparent, without starting over, before I save it as a png? thanks! Bobbi
debilou
Can, you first create a new document, this time with a transparent background... And, I don't know what type of art work you created, but is there any way you can select the WHITE, like with the magic wand tool.. Select inverse, which should be your art work... Layer > Create new layer from Selection. you should hopefully just have your artwork... move this artwork to your new Transparent document... ChristinaP
is the white background a layer in it's own? If it is, you could hide it or delete it. If not, I think the magic wand is the way to go.
beejay
Got it! I used the magic wand tool to pick up the white, inversed it, made a new layer. Turns out the new layer just showed marching ants so I went to Edit > Fill Selection and filled it with black. It's a little less precise than my first time around, but it's an image of one of my altered art rubber stamps so I've decided I don't need to be so fussy. Thanks for your help.
