Hi everyone,
I'm trying to do a stitch along a shape and found a tut for PS using paths. Is there a way to do this in PSE? I can't seem to find anything about paths in PSE, so I'm assuming it's a PS-specific function.
Thanks.
Cathy

The bad news: there are no paths in PSE
The good news, one of the product designers has created an action that will follow a selection:
Edge it Action for PSE
This action will use the current brush to go around a shape that you have highlighted (ie, has marching ants around it).
So, if you only want a curve (a part of a circle?) you could have it stitch around a whole circle and then delete what you don't want after it is finished. (it puts the brush work on its own layer).
HTH!

Thanks. That's very cool, but what exactly is an action and how do I add it to PSE once I download it?
Also, is there a link to the dynamic brushes that I'd need to purchase? I had trouble finding them and didn't see a link on the page for the action.

I don't use PSE, but does it have a menu of options when you open a brush under 'Brush Tip Shape'? In PS there is an option in this menu called 'Shape Dynamics' and if you check 'Direction' under the 'Angle Jitter' option, the brush will follow the direction of the mouse. In other words, it will change the stitch angle to go around a circle. I know the programs share some features, I'll keep my fingers crossed that this will work for you!
