Digital Peel Offs?

Hello, I have had a very quick look to see if there's anything on this but it 'was' quick and I apologise if this is a basic question LOL

I am working on a banner for my website and am considering a couple of effects, one being having the title look like peel offs on a card.

Does anyone know how to achieve this in PSP? I have only really used PSP to make up advertising copy and never 'played' with effects etc.

Any input gratefully received :)

I run a PSP graphics group and have an extensive list of links to tuts on just about any subject. But I don't know what a peel off is so I don't know which to send to you. Do you mean an animation where the letters move off? or do you mean like a page curl effect? If you explain to me (please, baby talk me) I'll send what I have on it.

I think maybe we call them rub ons? Is that what you mean? Black or white pre-printed letters on that plasticy sheet that you rub down onto the layout with a popsicle stick?

Hi - thanks for your posts (all of you)

Peel Offs are also known as 'outline stickers'... little gold or silver (usually) letters, phrases or pictures that you literally 'peel off' the vinyl sheet and stick on.

Rub-ons stay flat to the piece, whereas these stickers give a slightly raised effect (a little old fasioned but thought it would work out on a logo graphic).

This link shows you a picture, I'm sure you guys will know when you see!:

However, I would LOVE to see more of your PSP Graphics stuff - and could link from my site - or you could post some content ;) for free advertising if you need to build a subscriber list etc.

Look forward to hearing from you. :)

Page curls effects are built into PSP, check under the Effects menu/Image effects/page curl.

There's also a bunch of free third party plugins that have the effect. Here's a quick tut on doing page curls that has the download link for a page curling filter. The tut is for PSP but the filter will work in any program that allows 8bf filters. http://www.designsbyjoy.net/PSPTutorials1/Curl.htm

And if you really want something great in this department, check out the Vizro's filter. It use to cost but now it's free and it does some amazing page curls, open books and such.
It's an 8bf filter so will work in PS, PSE and PSP as well. http://www.vizros.com/
