scrappydo
I've been working on a page in Photoshop for the past couple of days. Everything was running along smoothly, now all of a sudden it won't let me save! I opened the file this morning did some more work and when I went to save it give me the message "could not save because file is already in use". What's up with that? I noticed that the file is huge (over 50MB). Could this be a memory problem or is it something else? I'm sorry for being such a pain, but I really am trying hard to figure this program out! Betsy
It may be a memory thing. Can you do a Save As and save it as a slightly different name, then delete the first, older file?
ScrapGirlsRo
I had that happen to me when I was starting out. And yes, it was because the file was too huge for words. This is how I fixed it: 1. I opened a new document. 2. I slide things over to it. 3. I combined layers when I could. 4. I saved the new one and gave up on the first one Taught me a lesson. Your computer can only handle SO much! 50 MB is TWICE what our download folder size is, just to put in into perspective. Some people can't download a 25 MB zipped folder. See the problem that your computer is having? Your file is bigger than most pieces of software.
scrappydo
Thanks so much. I'm sure the fact that I'm working from a laptop with a 20G hard drive and only 512M of RAM isn't helping matters. I guess that new computer I'm saving for is becoming imperative!
