I'm at work and so far, even with everybody bringing in lots of goodies, I've just had a little taste of a chicken brocoli cassorole and a carrot stick. I'm going slow as I know the next 8 hours will be nothing but grazing. But if I keep it to one litlle taste of the goodies and avoid all but the best of the sweetss, I'll be ok.

I won't discuss the eating part. I did really well until we began playing Phase 10 for several hours and ate my way through that.

I did 31 mins on the elliptical with the intention of finishing the other 51 mins after the meal. I didn't realize we would be playing the marathon card game.

Anyway, it was a fun evening and much to be thankful for.

I hope everyone else had a great day too.

I work the next 3 days. My goal is to get on the elliptical 2 of the 3 days after work for any amount of time. I usually just get a few things handled around the house and crash. So, this will be the making of new, healthy habit for me.

I also want to make a greater effort at increasing my fluid intake.

I'll keep you posted.

Hugs.

I did 91 minutes on the elliptical yesterday. Shooting for 90 mins today.

I'm going to a conference this weekend and will not have access to a workout facility. I may have to count the 0.3 mile walk as my exercise. Maybe I can climb the stairs a few times.

Next week I want to add 10 minutes of spinning to my elliptical workout. I'm shooting for my first Triathlon in May or June of 2009. I hope the weight comes off as a natural by-product of working toward the triathlon.

Wow Stephanie, you are an inspiration! I'm not making much progress but I did go for a walk yesterday. My plan is to get on that elliptical this week at least 3 times. Oh yes, and watch the WW points. Did pretty good today.

Went to the step class this morning, there were so many people there today. :) Almost as many as we see in January.

Give me your updates girls! I want to know what you are doing. Are we getting in at least 3 workouts a week? Shoot for 45 minutes. That is your goal. When you reach it, we'll add a day a week until you are up to 5.

How about your eating? Let's get it under control. This is a hard time of year, I know. But keeping your fridge full of fruits and salads will make it easier. Need somthing sweet? Toss some cranberries in your salad. Plus some sliced almonds, feta cheese(or whatever you like) and some of Newman's Own Light Lime dressing. You WON'T be disappointed!!

I'm doing my 50 minutes on the treadmill now. Check in with me here!!

Did my Sweat routine this morning. 49 minutes of a good, body-lovin' workout! And eating is good, tho hubby and I did splurge a big last night with some yummy coffee with Kahlua, Amaretto and a splash of lite eggnog. A yummy evening treat! :)

I had been under the weather for 2 wks. This week I am feeling better
and I have been walking every day for 25 min. Not that much but hope to increase
it up to 45. It isn't the best area to walk around the confined apartment complex but I
have made up a route that works fairly well. I had a hard time with the kettlebells
when I wasn't feeling well so I think I will ease into them again a little slower.
Somedays I feel like a failure but then I try to think positive and even if it is 10 min or 20
it is better than nothing! If only I could tone up more & lose some inches around my thick waist!: :(

Hi everyone, I will be leaving for a conference in SF. My hotel doesn't have a workout room. So, I will make the walk to the conference center instead of driving. And take the stairs as much as my ankle will allow.

I'm working on remembering to do squats whenever I am standing somewhere waiting. I know it looks funny but maybe I can start a new shopping line fitness craze.

We could make a workout video at the conference next October. Anyone up for some purple power "do it while you wait" exercising?

Any other ideas for the waiting game exercises are appreciated.

I did 61 mins on the elliptical on Sunday. I'm not sure why but I was feeling really tired. I worked the last two. I will get on the elliptical late tonight. I have a huge amount of preparation to do for the conference tomorrow.

I may not be on the words until Sunday night or even Thursday. I'll be thinking of you.

Hugs to all of you.

Hey there everyone!

We had a wonderful week at Disney, but now it's time to head home and get on the scale to see just how much damage I did. LOL We weren't too totally awful, but we weren't perfect either. We definitely splurged in the dessert area. But considering that we did walk about 40 miles this week, hopefully that balances it out somewhat. Not to mention the calories burned while waiting in line and when screaming on the rides. LOL

My most exciting news, however, is that I ordered the new Beachbody program ChaLEAN Extreme last night. This is the one I've been waiting and waiting for and it finally went live in the Beachbody store last night. I can't wait to get this and get started. This is the program that is going to help me reach my goal weight in March!

How are you all doing?
Jan

I'm so excited..just wanted to share. I've been participating in a Fitness Challenge at my place of work and at our last weight in I have lost a total of 35 pounds! Only about 5 pounds from my goal! I'm gonna need some extra help through Christmas though...it will definitely be a weak spot for me.

I think I finally found the exercise video that I can work out with and be not bored and really get a good workout. Its T Tapp. Very good science behind the moves and lots of core work, which is so important. I started last night and it looks a lot easier than it is but I'm loving it. Finally found something I can do and actually like. We'll see how it works. Supposedly, you can see measurable results in two weeks. I'll let you know. I've got my exercise sessions scheduled in my planner for an entire year! I know things will come up and I will have to be a little flexible but its there and so I have to do it, right?

OK, girls, lets get this show on the road! Now that the holidays are over and the kids are back in school, I can spend some time on all of you!!

How goes it? Do you have new goals?? How did you do with your old ones?

I want you to spill it here. Tell me what you need to do and I'll help you do it. Get off your butts and get moving!

Yay! I'm so glad to see this. I'm just having trouble getting up off my tired backside and doing anything. I just don't feel like it. In my head i know that's just the opposite of what I should be thinking, because getting up and working out will give me more energy. Usually, once I get started I'm ok, but just breaking that inertia to start moving is the hardest.

I really need and want to get started but right now I'm fighting a sinus infection and an ear infection so I'm not feeling much like getting up and exercising. So I'm giving myself until I'm half-way through my antibiotics and then I'm getting started with the exercising and eating better.

I didn't follow through with my goals last year, but at least I stayed the same. I have the same measurements and weight as Jan 1 2008. This year, I have a Wii fit and LOVE it. I was doing it every day, then fell off a bit. The thing yelled at me this morning, I won't miss a day again! LOL. I really want to do at the least the Yoga everyday. I can feel the difference it's made already.

Ok, back to the Wii :) (after I check the what's new thread!)

Since i started T Tapp workout videos two weeks ago, I'm starting to see some small changes. I just redid my measurements after 10 days of doing the workout. I've lost 1/4 to 1/2 inch everywhere except my calves, which actually increased a tad. I still can't even make it through the entire instructional video, but am getting it better and better each time. I haven't changed weight yet, but that will come more slowly. I haven't done it as often as I planned, but still not going to give up. One thing I have noticed is that my posture has improved quite a bit and as we age and start losing bone densitiy, posture is huge. One thing I really like about this program is she really concentrates on core strength. That's really important. I don't know yet how comprehensive this will end up being, but so far it seems to be doing what it claims to.

I'm struggling to get my sorry carcass up and moving. I am eating just a touch better though. I gained about 8 pounds between turkey day and new years, so I need to step it up. I may have to go www.weightview.com and let them morph me into a smaller me and see if that gets me motivated!!!
