Help
So, my foster baby turned one today. That mean's we've passed a major milestone in his legal case - one full year with no contact from the birth parents. While this may be hard for him to comprehend later in life, it is a major deal when dealing with the court system and a positive step towards his adoption (by us). It essentially means that the birth parents have officially "abandoned" the baby. Sad situation, but we feel blessed to have him.
I'm so lucky to be an adoptive mom! While we won't finalize on L's adoption until next summer probably (the wheels of the legal system move slowly!), we are pretty confident that adoption is the way his case is going.
Looks like we'll be getting L's cousin by the end of the year. The baby's not born yet, so we don't know the sex (or anything else for that matter!), and we don't exactly know when either. Maybe a new baby will be my Christmas present! I REALLY need a bigger house!

While it is such a sad thought to think that anybody could abandon their baby, I am so happy that things are starting to look brighter. This baby is sooo lucky to have you, and I know the legal system will agree too. Good luck when the time does come around, but congrats on this milestone, and Happy Birthday to your baby!!!

How exciting for you & your foster son!! As Audreys says it is sad but the flip coin is so good for this little one to have parents who went after him & with the luck of a angel will keep him!! CONGRATS!!!

How exciting for your family! It's sad that his parents are absent, but you are a blessing in his life and he is so lucky you love him so much. I'll keep your family in my prayers and pray this all works out for you!

Happy birthday to your little one! I'll be praying that the adoption works out for you guys. Although it's so hard to see a child who is not wanted by his birth parents, I have no doubt you will provide a loving family and give him the stability that he would not have had with his birth parents. Hugs!
