Digital Scrapbooking Magazine Folding

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to let everyone know - apparently subscription renewals are going out even though the magazine itself will publish its last issue in January (the Feb/March issue) - they say our remaining issues will be filled with another CK publication - as it turns out that would have been my last issue on this subscription

Losing the only print magazine for digi-scrappers! Thank you scrapgirls for hanging in there for us!

It's the only magazine I really love, I am saddened. I wonder if it's only the print version they're discontinuing and will still have the online version. Although, I much prefer print version. I really thought there were plenty of us digi scrappers around, hmmm. Thank goodness we still have ScrapGirls!

I got a request from one of their publications, Simple Scrapbooks, to fill out a survey about what I like about their magazine and what I'm looking for in their magazine. I noticed they asked quite a few questions about digi-scrapping. I managed to mention Scrap Girls several times in my comments. :P I hope they get lots of responses asking for more digital LOs.

When I heard I called and set up my subscription to cancel right after their last issue. They should be sending me a refund in the mail. I'd just renewed until 2011 so I'm glad they'd refund my money. I'm sad too, but I'd rather spend my money on other stuff if they're gone.

Oh no! This is the first time I'm hearing about this. I was planning to cancel all my other scrapbook subscriptions and keep only this one. Now what will I do?

Stampington does have a digital issue buy it is only published 1-2 times a year. The articles are very good, but the styles of the LOs they publish are not for eveyone.

I got a renewal notice for Digital Scrapbooking in the mail just yesterday. You can still subscribe on their website as well. I get that they send out the renewal notices way ahead of the announcement, but it seems like they could change it for the online renewal. I could renew for several years!

I agree this is such a bummer! I like taking it with to kids activities where I can then sit and enjoy my digi scrap mag. So even if it was just online I wouldn't subscribe at this point anyway. I too was just going to subscribe as I've gotten them all at a store. Thought I'd save some money if I subscribed! Glad I didn't...actually I more bummed that it is ending! I can't imagine another magazine picking it up to publish...there has got to be enough of us!

This message was in their Face Book Group (looks like they are going to keep the online version and are looking for feedback) -

As many of you know, Digital Scrapbooking magazine will cease the print portion of its offering after the February-March issue (on sale January 14). (If you didn't know, you can find the official announcement here: http://www.creatingkeepsakes.com/content/view/14871/.)

Despite this disappointment, we're working on a plan to continue Digital Scrapbooking magazine. But we want your ideas to make it happen. What would you like to see DSM become? An e-zine only? A dynamic e-newsletter with tutorials and inspiring ideas? Something completely different? As we work on this proposal, we're open open to all ideas. Send us an email at editor@digitalscrapbooking.com or post here. We want to make sure we're including your ideas to keep DSM being what you want.

You've got to be kidding (sarcastically said). My dad just got me a subscription to Digital Scrapbooking Magazine for my birthday after I had fallen in love with it at convention. Now what will happen to my gift subscription? I didn't order it, Dad did. I love the printed magazine. I understand it, the steps are great and useable, I can keep it right on my desk and follow along on my computer. I am so bummed out right now. I am going to have to find older versions of the printed copies to buy.

Stinks, i had 3 more issues left on my subscription, and just let two other subscriptions drop because i dont do anything but digital scrapping. The online editions just arent practical, maybe if i could "clip" individual pages.... oh well, i hope they do refunds, Especially for those of you who paid for years in advance, but i doubt it. I have my renewal sitting in front of me and was just about to renew for 2 yrs. Whew! As a reputable business they should have stopped accepting subscriptions and fulfilled the demand they had - Or offered refunds as an option along with a choice of other replacement media...not sent renewal notices.

This really stinks!!! I am so sad to learn of this news. I love the printed versions of this magazine. I don't think I ever really looked at the online edition. There is just something about flipping through pages. And this was my favorite magazine!!!! Luckily Dec/Jan was my last issue and I was about to renew my subscription. Glad I heard the news before I did that. I am hoping to just pick up my copy of Feb/March in the stands when it comes out.
