I am thinking of purchasing this scanner. How is it? Or do you have a scanner you would recommend???
I wanted one that did negatives also.

We have the HP 4890 and I love it.
It will do film and slides in special loaders.
It's a huge improvement from our last one, an earlier HP flatbed.
It is supposed to scan multiple items to separate files, which works will when you load the rack of 12 slides.
It doesn't work quite as well if you fill the flatbed with prints, for example. It sometimes has trouble distinguishing the edges of the pictures.
It has plenty of resolution to scan a slide into a file you can enlarge beautifully.
It's probably an old model now.
