I did and I love it! When my kids aren't fighting over it, that is!

I've been doing the yoga and the balance games, working up slowly to the arobics! It's been fun, hard to stand on one leg, especially when my kids are doing the yoga poses beside me, using me for balance! LOL

We've had one for a while. Played on it alot at first, then kind of quit, but we will be getting it out again. It is tons of fun and one I don't have to watch the kids' time so closely on as I figure they are actually getting some activity in, not just video games.

I have been eyeing the Cheerleader game, it looks fun but maybe a little to complicated for one as uncoordinated as myself!

We got a Wii Fit for Christmas and I LOVE it! I have been doing 60 minutes (60 workout minutes, which actually turns out to be more like 90 minutes!) every day since Christmas (except Sunday, I mean). I do either Rhythm Boxing, Super Hula Hooping, or Step Aerobics every day, as well as some yoga and balance games. I went for a couple runs today too, but my knees can't take that very well.

I am going to see how it keeps going for the next few weeks and I may consider quitting my gym membership if I keep this up (once the kids get back to school and life is back to "normal"). I really enjoy working out this way. . .

We have one and we love it. The Hula Hoop and Yoga moves are my favorite. I was playing it every day and haven't been consistently lately, so I need to get back to that. The boxing is a good workout too!

I rocked the step aerobics. All those classes in the 80s paid off! Are there options for increasing the difficulty or speeding it up the more you do it? I love the fact that your other Miis are there doing it with you. It's hilarious that my FIL in stepping right beside me! :D

I've also enjoyed the balance games (that rolling table thing is tricky!) and yoga poses. Haven't tried any of the strength ones. I'm just glad it didn't say "please tell the other person to get off the Wii board" when I stepped on it! ;)

Ahhh... I am listening to the sweet sound of Wii in the background. Wii Sports to be exact! (In fact, my kids playing is my Jan 2nd picture ;) )

Did you know that there is actually research going on in Physical Therapy for the use of virtual games in the rehab process??!! I think its all great!

We got ours just after Christmas, I love it. I'm not up to 60 mins of it yet though! I love the step and the hula hooping, despite the fact my DH sits behind me, killing himself laughing when I do it! He reckons he doesnt need it as it took 23 years off his age LOL

I've had one for several months and had lost 5 pounds and about 2% body fat doing the wii fit. I love it, I just bought my fitness coach and will be giving it a whirl tomorrow. All the reviews that I have read says it is way better than the jillian michaels for the wii.

here is to our weight loss goals and using the wii to reach them!!!

I've resisted the whole video game thing so far. The last video game I spent any amount of time playing was Atari pong & frogger. Yes, that dates me.

I've been wanting the Wii but wasn't sure if having it as a fitness tool would be worth the initial investment plus extras. From all the posts here it sounds like it could be alot of fun along with making fitness fun too.

Stephanie, if you decide to get the wii you may want to check out my fitness coach game for the wii. It doesn't use the wii fit balance board, but you set up your profile and the equipment you have (handheld weights, stability ball, step) and pick your goal for the day and amount of time you have and it creates a workout for you. I told it I had 15 minutes and wanted to do yoga and my legs and shoulders are sore from planks and warrior poses!!! It is definitely better than having a bunch of exercise dvds laying around!!! You can work on strength, weight loss, cardio, toga, etc. I think it gives you more of a workout than the wii fit but it isn't as much fun!!!

That sounds really cool! DH bought "Outdoor Challenge" for the Wii, I haven't played it much, but it seems to be a workout tool as well. (No Wii fit balance board there either!)

Debubbie, thank-you for the recommendation and the information. I called the Game Stop closest to my house yesterday. I went to work and one of my coworkers was sore from doing a hula hoop challenge with her 8 yr old daughter. Now this lady is already fit. So, that got me really thinking about what my workout patterns have been.

I have alot of equipment that I use sporadically. I am most consistent with my huge elliptical because it has 12 programs and I can remix my exercise playlists on my ipod to keep me entertained.

After pondering my patterns I realized that the Wii makes sense since I can add games and keep it fun over time. They are hoping to have a shipment tomorrow and the manager will set one aside for me when it comes in. So, I'm hoping I will be on the Fit tomorrow afternoon.

The fitness coach sounds right up my alley since it would motivate me to use all that other stuff I'm so inconsistent about using.

I also really like Jillian Michaels. I have her 30 Day Shred DVD. It is serious planks and other moves. The workouts come in 3 levels that you would work up through and are about 30 minutes. It took me 3 weeks to get through level one before I could even imagine getting through level 2. That said, I think I would like hers too.

Then there's the Dancing with the Stars.....So much fun to be had. I'm really excited. Can you tell?

LOL. Thanks everyone for your input. This is a much more reliable place for reviews than Amazon.

I really want one someday. We did get Guitar Hero III because it was on a great deal (and maybe still is) at Circuit City. Someday we will get Wii Fit.

We got one when they first came out. My DH wanted one so bad he went to the store bright and early the morning they came out. It was funny. He stood outside the store doors waiting for them to open and raced to the electronics area. He was the only one there buying a Wii fit at the time. I was still in bed sleeping but I have to laugh at the thought of my DH waiting outside the stores to be the first to get a Wii fit.
We have enjoyed it and have hooked my parents and grandparents on it. My Grandfather's health has greatly improved from the Wii fit!
This year for christmas we got Mario kart. It is a blast! I never thought I'd enjoy it so much. My father in law couldn't get enough of it either. He is tempted to buy the wii system just for that game.

We got the Wii fit for an early Christmas present. We got the Jillian Michaels game also, but have been having trouble with the controls actually working. It helps to set it for 2 controllers instead of a controller and nunchuck, but I don't think it is worth the money as you try so hard and yet it doesn't want to register on the game. If you can stand to wait EA Games is coming out with Sports Active in February. It is supposed to be much better than the fitness coach. It uses various combination of balance board and controllers to get you moving with various sports activities. It comes with a little pouch on your thigh for the nunchuck to go into to measure things like squats and such. The exercise game is a fairly new 'popular' genre of video game which will only increase in popularity with the balance board. The games will keep getting better and better.

I had wanted to get the Jillian Michaels game but a lot of people said it was trash. They said it was so hard to get the controls and stuff to recognize and they would get frustrated. It had several low ratings and I decided I wouldn't get that one. I keep checking the exercise games they have. One they have for the system in Japan is shadow boxing, that I think would be cool so maybe they will make it into an American version. I would also love to see a karate game come out that use the controllers and the board. I like the fitness coach, it changes it up and asks you if it was too hard or not hard enough and customizes it for you. I know after a few minutes of the cardio I was sweating and my abs and legs hurt from the core workout!!! The wii fit is super fun and my tennis team and I play it some to see who can do the best ski jump, hula hooping, etc. One of my players was giving us junk about how in shape she was and she could beat us all. I set the hula hooping for 6 minutes and she couldn't walk the next day!!! I think as time goes on the exercise games will get better and you can add to your collection and stay motivated.

Sara & Debubbie, thank-you for the additional information. I will avoid the Jillian Michaels game. It's too bad they didn't get it done better. I really like her get-off-your-butt attitude. It works well for me.

I'm so glad you both let me know that it is a technical issue. I would have purchased it and become disenchanted with the whole system.

I will definitely get the fitness coach. I don't mind getting the new one later. I don't mind admitting that I get bored easily and will probably end up buying a new game frequently to ensure I keep moving foward with my fitness goals.

Any other recommendations are very welcome.

Well, I want one now. We went to a friends house one evening over Christmas break. She had a wii and the wii Fit, but she left the balance board downstairs. She raved about it, though. In the meantime, we just got to play things like tennis, boxing, baseball and cow racing. I LOVED hitting homers over the fence. I could do that all day. :) I know my DH is trying to figure out if we can legitimately buy one this Spring, after the tax return arrives. Hmm...pay down debt vs. buy a wii fit. Perhaps it's time for a garage sale. ;) I would love something that would get me off my rear end more often. Keep the reviews coming!!

We got just the Wii for Christmas. I called around and everwhere was out of the Wii Fit's so when they are in stock, and we remember, we'll get one. My sister in law knows a woman that lost 10 lbs just doing regular Wii games without the Wii Fit stuff.

We have Outdoor Challenge and we all love it! It uses a control pad (like that for dance dance revolution without the dancing part) and it's awesome! I was achy when we first started playing it but with regular use I've lost a couple of inches and a few pounds. After moving the Guitar Hero drums out of the way I got the Wii Fit balance board back out and I found out that I have lost 5% body fat since we got the Outdoor Challenge game! I can't wait for the new Sports game!

So Christina! Still using your Wii Fit? Since I have started WW, I really need to get more activity into the mix...are you enjoying it or is it already collecting dust? We are sometimes bad about buying something, and then forgetting about it for a while. I haven't even looked to see how much they cost either- are they reasonable?

BTW...and this is so nerdy. But have you played Mario Galaxy or watched the kids play- so fun. Anyways. Thanks!!

We LOVE our Wii fit! We bought Wii before Thanksgiving, but could not get our hands on the FIT until 20 days ago. We are measuring every day now. Our nephew (25) has lost an added 8# since he added Wii to the gym and our regular healthy diet. My weight has been up and down, but I am getting more exercise, so that will go down soon, too. LOVE IT... GET IT! Such a FUN way to monitor your health!
