Files Wont Move To Picasa3

I was updated to Picasa 3, I am moving files to it through the file manager, but I have a couple of files so far that wont move. They show that they have been scanned once but nothing shows in Picasa.

Is there a reason for this, or are there just some files that can't be moved?

Help Please. Thank you!!

I might need more info to help you, but my first thought is what kind of files are they? There are some files that you have to tell Picasa to recognize. I don't think it's set to view .png, .psd, and a few others automatically. You have to set it to view those. I know there's been a couple times that I have reinstalled and forgotten to do that and had a little panic until I remembered. I hope that helps. If not, post again and we'll try to figure it out.

Oh, and I'm wondering about you saying that you are "moving" files. YOu don't really move files to PIcasa, you just choose places for it to view. Does that make sense?

Thank you Jennifer, I am trying to do a scan once on TYO_AYO_BasicBear. Also in the same folder is WinterBear. Picasa also wont scan my transparencies. It has scanned alot of the other png's but I have found a few that it wont scan at all.

I have tried shutting down and restarting, that didn't help, so I'm lost in left field somewhere.

Thank you for trying to help. I know I'm not moving files, I guess I just didn't know how else to word it. Sorry! I'll get the hang of this yet.

Another thought. Do you have that option checked for small files. My computer is in Texas at the Dell Repair shop or I'd look at Picasa myself. I'm using DH's laptop. I can't remember exactly where it is, but some files are too small and you won't see them. I think it's under view. Make sure you check small files. I'm assuming the AYO Bears are mostly .png files and if you have it set to view those, I'm not sure why it won't pick them up. Try the small thing if you can find it. Wish I could be more help.

Another thought. Sometimes when I have it scanning for a lot of stuff, it will just stop scanning for no reason that I can figure out. I just close the program and open back up and it starts scanning again. I know you said you tried that, but I wanted to make sure. Can you try to set it for scan always and see what happens. Have you reset it after the update. If it was set before the update to scan only once, it might not scan again after the update. I'm sure you've already done all this, just grabbing at straws here.

Jennifer you have been great!! I did find where it says to scan different files, and the png was not checked, I guess I just thought that it was scanning the png's, but it was only taking the rest of a collection. I will try the small file thing now, it still wont scan the bears. Off I go again. It really is kind of fun!! :blondmoment:

Thanks again you are great!!!

Oh, thank you! I've been reading the whole message board re Picasa 3 to figure out why only my papers show up and the set shows up as a folder. If I click on the folder it goes to Windows Explore and voila! there are all the other parts of the set -- embelishments, alphas, etc.

So I found the place to click on .png and as we speak its running through all my .png files. It's taking a while, it's been going for about 20 minutes and is only up to the "C"s.

Thanks for the hint.

Ginny
