Hi everyone!

First, I wasn't sure whether this should go under "cards and more" or "Home Decor" so sorry if this is the wrong spot.

I want to make a reusable message board for the kitchen so that people can write down things as we run out or if they need something specific for a recipe. As it will never get put up if it requires hanging anything I think it would be easier to just print it on a magnet sheet and stick it to the fridge. Does anyone knoe if the non-magnetic side will wipe dry consistently? I tried it a few moments ago and it worked then, but I'm worried that overtime the board may get ruined if the ink sits.

What about laminating it? Do dry-erase markers wife off of plastic?

Maybe someone will come along who knows more...

or one of those hard plastic photo frames that have a magnet on the back. you could slip a different picture or layout in it from time to time.

I don't know if it comes off the magnet board, but I use it from time to time on the fridge itself and it comes off just fine!

If you laminate it there shouldn't be a problem. Print your design on paper or photo paper, laminate it at Kinkos or the likes with a heavy laminate then add the magnetic stuff to the back. Any dry erase markers should work on it. I would leave the center white so the markers show up well. Hope this works for you!

I have my chore charts laminated and stuck on the fridge. Then I use one of those wax pencils to write the "X" when they do their jobs. I used to use dry erase markers, but they either don't write very well or they don't come off completely when you accidentally leave them for more than a few days (not that I ever did that or anything . . . ). The wax pencil is consistent every single time and just takes some rubbing with a paper towel to get it off. Just an idea . . .

At school, I use the Vis-A-Vis markers to write on transparencies. They come off with a wet paper towel. Here is a link to some at Staples. They come in many different colors. I think they are readily available. I believe I have seen them at Walmart.

Also, you can use shower board from Lowe's or Home Depot for the white board. They will cut it to your specs if you can't find what you are looking for size wise. If you use the shower board you may want to put some kind of frame around it to make it look better.
