I remember those last few weeks of pregnancy, where you just want it all to be over with, hold that sweet little baby in your arms, not have your back hurt, and be able to sleep on your tummy again. Well, that's the point my DIL Brianna is at. Julianna is due on the 28th and even though there's a little dilation, no signs that anything will happen soon. They did schedule induction on the 8th, so sooner or later this baby will arrive. I have to keep laughing, sympathetically of course, because my DS, Ray, was the pokiest little baby. 2 1/2 weeks late. Induction was scheduled the day after he finally arrived. I'm pretty anxious to get this done too. Another sweet little granddaughter, who could ask for more?

I think many of us can definitely sympathise & empathize! It's so hard to be patient when you're so uncomfortable, and you just want that baby here --- and just as hard for grandma! :) Hope the baby decides to come out SOON! 3 1/2 weeks overdue! ACK! That's enough to drive a person insane! I can't even imagine. Yikes. I thought being 1 week overdue was torture!!

I am one of the fortuante ones...my babies like to get here! My first Dr. told me some women are term at 38 wks, some at 40 and some at 42. You my Dear are a 38! My 3rd son was 3 1/2 weeks early and he weighed 8 lbs 12 oz. Now my DD was with a new Dr. who didn't feel the same way. And the problem is I don't diolate (sp?) on my own. I have mild contractions (which this Dr. called Braxton Hicks though I did not have BH's with my other 3 babies) and I have to have my water broken. But once it is watch out....there is a baby here within the hour! I know I am strange. Because this Dr. felt different, he wouldn't break my water until I asked him how big the baby was. Oh..let me see, Wow...almost 9 lbs! Ok...come in tomorrow and we will break your water. 1 Day before my due date! Needless to say - Kylie had a little more trouble than her brothers since she weighed 9.15! They almost broke her colar bone during delivery. I was not a happy camper with this Dr. He came in my room and said Wow! What a big baby! My reply was Well, what do you expect when they are 2 weeks old when they are born! In the end, all was well and I didn't have to injure my Dr....though it was close for awhile. Good luck...hope she is here soon!

waiting is really the hardest part isn't it?
I hope the new little one is here soon, so we can see all the layouts you are going to make.

I am one of the 42 weekers.....
My oldest was born 12 days past his due date after a 2 day induction (yuck) weighed 7lbs 11oz.
With my second they induced (only took one day that time whoo hoo) 3 days before his due date and he was 7lbs. 12oz.

Yeah, mine were bigguns too. 9 13, 8 7 and 10 1 1/2. #2 was right on time, to the day, but #1 and #3 were both 42+ weeks. We grow 'em big and slow in our family LOL.

Well I hope the baby arrives soon Sandy. I am sorry but I had to laugh at everyones experiences, it seems very strange remebering mine too. DS #1 came bang on time and weighed in at 7lb 9oz, DS #2 came 3 weeks early at almost half that weight, at 3lb 14 oz. so I guess we are the small & dainty types here, although you wouldnt think it now.

Your post made me chuckle a bit! The truths of the last couple weeks--get it over with! But, how precious to hear grandma's anxiousness too! I'm sure the baby is anxious to meet you too--in her own time ;)! Hang in there Sandi! :)

My waters broke at 36 weeks but I was 3 whole days in labour. We were back to back and I never got beyond 8cm. So after all that I had a section as there was only 1 way he was coming out lol. This is the girl who was having a natural birth - I managed for 60 hours with my TENS machine then in the last 12 I had gas and air, pethadine and an epidural. He was 7lb 6oz but obviously early as he was covered in that fine blond down all over and wouldn't feed which I'm told is peculiar to 36 week babies. You would never think that to see him now - he's nearly as big as me at 8 years old - I will have to reach up to box his ears soon!!!!

Hope this baby puts an appearance in soon and you can finally get to meet

Maybe she's waiting to come on my birthday, Jan. 29th! That would be so cool!

My first dd was born 2 days late and my second dd was induced 2 weeks early. Both were small, 6 14 and 6 3. They grow them small in dh's family!

I was three weeks overdue. My water broke 3 days before I sent into labor. Silly Military Doctors!!! But he was a healthy baby and that's all that matters in the long run! Hope your grandbaby makes a healthy entrance soon.

I so remember that time. My DD was 2 weeks late, and everyday that past my Due date, I would just wait all day. Tried the cleanning the house, walking around. Anything to make her come sooner. But we all know, they will come, when the come.

Oh man....with Rebekah she was 5 days early...good thing too! 9 lbs 7.25 oz and 29 hours labor! But the reason she was a big un was because first 5 months of my pregnancy was not good for me and when I came home to mom and dad at 5 mos I was a big stomach but the rest of me was skin and bones. So they fed me...and fed me....and fed me....and most of it went on Bekah! Naomi on the other hand was an interesting pregnancy....no morning sickness but I did go into early labor at 7.5 months and they stopped it with total bed rest for 5 weeks and I was in labor 14 hours. She was 7 lbs 14oz and both girls were long 21 inches. So yeah I hear you on hurry up and get here....I know Bekah is gonna be feeling that way come early April. She's a 42 weeker as well. With Naomi since this is her first...who knows! But I did get the news she is 9 weeks and 5 days.

Oh, this is the hardest part! I hope she will go into labor on her own, if not, I hope when they induce- little Julianne will come fast! I guess that teeny little girl doesn't realize that everyone is ready to meet her!

Waiting is so hard . . . but all four of mine were preemies born at 30 weeks. All three boys were 3 lbs 8 oz, and I almost got laughed out of the delivery room when they showed me dd and I exclaimed "she's so big!" (5 lbs 6 oz).

We're waiting with you, Sandi, praying for a safe delivery.

Ugh- I can totally relate! My first dd was 2 weeks late and I was determined that I was not going to be induced so I did EVERYTHING to get her to come even down to eating some conconction that people SWORE would do the trick. I went into labor alright the morning I was supposed to be induced, but she still did not want to come out so we went to get her :) She still likes to do things her own way :)

Heres hoping that cutie will show up soon!

Oh Sandi, you are SO right! The end of pregnancy is SO hard (and I'm being reminded of that on a daily basis now myself!) I hope that she goes into labor soon. Ty was 8 days overdue and they were literally the LONGEST 8 days of my life waiting for him to be born!

My experiences were like this: Twins - premature labor for 2 months, going back and forth to hosp getting shots to stop the labor. They were born at 34 1/2 weeks by C-section both weighed 4lbs 3oz 17 1/2 inches long. Lawson - planned C-section - no labor and weighed 7lbs 13 oz. 20 inches long. Sawyer - planned C-section once again no labor (that i knew of). He weighed 7lbs 11 oz and I forget how long. I know this is bad but they all start to run together after 4 babies.

I hope she comes soon and is very healthy. A perfect little angel.

I am not good at waiting, so I feel your pain. ;) Scrap her a layout with a letter about how anxious you are to meet her. I'm sure when she is older she would love to have it and it might help a little with the waiting.

My SIL made a "Waiting for Mary" book and had everyone give her a quote to use. Then added their quote to pictures of the people or the people with Mary when she was born. She wrote a letter and talked about what they did to get pregnant...invitro. I haven't seen the end result..but there is an idea for you!

Due date +2. 2:45 AM. On the way to the hospital, contractions every 3-4 minutes, not sure if its the real deal. Yesterday afternoon, Brianna was sick, vomiting, so they went in. No labor, but they gave her some fluids and went home around 7. I was sick like that when I went into labor with #2. Hope I have good news later today. Problem is, I'm on call today and I don't think I can get anyone to cover for me. I'll worry about that later. The camera battery is charged and I've got a new card in the camera, so just in case, I'll have it ready to go.
