(Didn't know this section existed until this morning - or if I did I'd forgotten!)

By this time next week our little one will have arrived, DV.

DD's to go in to hospital on Tuesday evening if nothing has happened by then. They will give her some hormone gel and see if that shifts him/her! lol! If not they'll do it again on Wed morning, and possibly Wed lunchtime, I think. Then it's no-holds-barred and the dynamite comes out - on to a drip! lol! This little one's got to come out sometime!

DD was fully two weeks late herself, and I remember my first thought, after knowing I'd recognise her anywhere, was that she had been in the bath too long ... her tiny fingers and toes were all crinkly. :D (Yes, been knitting and shopping and I'm getting excited :D )

Would appreciate your prayers for a safe delivery. DD jokes about her silicone implant (singular, and everyone raises their eyebrows!) She has a silicone band around her left eye helping to hold her retina in place. Am praying the staff will watch her eyes carefully and not allow the pressure to build up too much.

Also a bit concerned as the weather report is heavy snow by Tuesday! Am praying they've got it wrong! Would be happy of the excuse of being snowed-in once we get there, but not being snowed-out! :( We'll need to watch the road reports carefully to know which road to cross the Pennines on.

We've arranged to go down for a couple of days once DD goes into labour. The plan was that they'd then have a few days on their own and I'd go back for a week or two depending on what she needs. However, DSiL has discovered his paternity leave is not as flexible as he'd initially been told. He finished yesterday for two weeks, then has the mid-term week off - 3 weeks in all. Sad face ... mummy may not be needed after all :( But we'll see. I'm available if needed. And if not, we'll work out some excuse to visit again soon, lol!

I made a lovely layout (well, I think it's lovely!) of DD with her 40-week bump. She loves it, and I'm trying to coax her to let me post it. She's shy because the bump is bare. (I did bring her up to dress modestly, lol!) Will let you know if she gives permission :D

I'm still praying for a safe delivery, Isabella. I must say that I'm starting to get excited for the big event too! If I were you with snow threatening to get between me and the hospital, I'd drive down early and rent a room :D You can knit and whatever there as easily as at home, and you don't have to hover around DD unless she wants you there. Just my thoughts!

Isabella,

Praying everything goes smoothly for DD and your new bundle of Joy.... and yes, I think I'd be going over early and renting a room if it was financially possible ... anything to avoid being snowed out :)!
