I have had mozy since Jan 13th. My initial backup has not been completed and since Sat it will not even backup at all. I talked to online chat on Mon and they told me they were going to do something to their server and it would take 24hrs. I still hadn't heard from them so this morning I did live chat again and they said it still wasn't done and had no time frame for finishing. It is very frustrating.
Thanks for letting me vent,
dawn

I did my back up in parts starting with the most important, music, photos, scrapping stuff. Then added the other stuff over time to get a full backup. I also didn't want to tie up the computer for the time to do the computer all at one time.

I had nothing but trouble with Mozy and cancelled my subscription after about a month.

Hmmm, so far I haven't had any problems with Mozy (had it 8 months) and even had to restore some files with success. Sorry to hear you are having problems.

Dawn,
I've had mozy for a year now (renewed in December). In Jan I started having some trouble and have spent time with them in chats. I asked for and received an extension on my subscription due to the trouble I was having. Since they fixed it, it's been better ... not quite as good as it was last year ... but better. I won't switch at this point because our other 'favorite' still doesn't back up EHDs. I waited for them to do it for 6 months before signing with Mozy cause they kept saying 'its coming soon'. So, for at least the last 20 months they've been saying 'soon' .. can't wait forever.
Hope they're able to fix whatever is wrong quickly for you ... but ask for a contract extension especially since it's been over a month.

That's a good idea - to ask for a contract extension. I've had Mozy for awhile now and haven't had any problems. I hope yours clear up soon.

I've had Mozy for a couple of months. I backed up what's on my computer first and am in the process of backing up my EHD. It's taking forever.
Do any of you let it run all night? I'm afraid I'll 'burn up' my EHD if I do. So I shut it down at night and try to remember to turn it back on every morning. Which brings up another question...If I do forget to turn on the EHD, will Mozy think I no longer want it backed up if it's not on? And will I lose what already has been backed up?
It sure slows down my internet. I try to set it to the halfway mark between faster backup and faster computer. Unless I know I'm not going to be using the computer then I slide it to faster backup.
I'd love to hear other's experiences and tips!
