I know last year we had a Yahoo group so we could bounce ideas off each other and critique layouts. Was wondering if anyone was interested in doing that again this time around. Looks like the deadline is July 31 and the theme is Celebrate Life.

Oh, my...do we dare? I haven't seen the specs yet. I'll have to look it up. I actually thought about that Scrapbooker of the Year thing that CK is doing...is it even CK? I'm soooo confused...

Yeah I saw that one also Theresa...it just really seemed like to much for me. 20 layouts, 12 unseen and an essay. Plus I see a paper scrapper winning that one, and i'm just not that good at paper scrapping.

Keri you've gotta give it a try. If for no other reason then just doing the layouts. When I did my layouts for the Computer Scrapbooking magazine I was so happy with them. It didn't matter if I won or not..I had 10 layouts I was really happy with. Which is funny because you hear alot of people say that..it's not the winning it's the feeling of completing the assignments and the outcome of the layouts they are most happy with.

This one is pretty east..it's a total of 5 layouts. 4 are any topic/subject you like and 1 is their Celebrate Life theme. All must be previously unseen, basically the layout and photo can not of been posted in any gallery. And the hardest part for me each layout must include journaling.

I'll send you a link to the official rules..

Oh, I sooooo want to again... but the timing is so bad - what with moving and baby coming and all... but then again, it's only 5 layouts... and the topic for the 12x12 is great for me this year... and... augh! I'm a MAYBE!

Yeah, 3rd time is a charm, right? I had one picked up from last year's entry and two picked up the year before, though - my record is declining!

I'm guessing this is only for people in the US? Otherwise it'd be fun just to make some LOs :) You're totally right Angie, winning doesn't matter at all - I've entered another contest but online that starts up soon and I've only entered that because of the amount of fun I will get to have doing the LOs!

I'm so under-qualified for this but have been giving it a lot of thought. Unsure of the specs, but if it's only five lo's, well, maybe I could give it a shot anyhow right? I mean really, what do I have to lose, lol.

To have a friend is to have a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold and an extra pair of legs when yours are too weak to stand alone...

I have been living buried in books and writing classes... as an added note I must say that it is rather scary when you start dreaming and all you can see within your dreams is words floating everywhere!

I noticed in the rules that they can be digital and thought maybe I might try. But I seriously don't know if I have the time! LOL!!!

I'm doing all digital this year. Last year I tried doing a few paper, but it was super time consuming.

I'm going all digital. I tend to change my mind to many times when i'm doing something like this and it would be way to hard for me if I did it paper.

Last year I did 4 digital and the 12x12 original as a hybrid.

The year before I did 100% digital.

This year, for CK's HOF, I did TONS of hybrids, only 3 of my 15 layouts were 100% digital, I think.

As I'm hopeless about following magazines, is there a link with the details for MMM this year? I tried it once a couple years ago, all paper of course, and nothing ever came of it (though I did love my layouts and one won an award at a crop later on, but anyway), but now that I've discovered digital maybe it wouldn't be so bad to try :-)
