I have a picture layer on top of a paper layer and I want to type text on the picture layer using an "eraser" so the paper below the picture shows through. I am using PSE4 for Mac. Thank you! ChristinaP Posted February 19, 2009 Share Posted February 19, 2009 You should be able to select the text layer, usually by clicking on the picture in the layers pallet while holding the ctrl (cmd) key. Then select the paper layer you want to delete and press delete! Or you could use your magic wand to select the open space around the text and then inverse your selection. JoannB Posted February 19, 2009 Share Posted February 19, 2009 I was going to suggest what Christina said. Another thought.... is turn the text you want to erase with into a brush. Type it the way you want it to look, then go to Edit -- Define Brush. When you define your brush, you'll be able to turn it into an Eraser, and VOILA!
