Ok...I am working on my editing skills and I used 2 different methods on the same photo. I think I like the results of Method 2 (Raw) best..but there are things I like about Method 1. So what do ya'll think?

Compared side by side I think I like Method 2 best. I like the yellow tones mixed with all the brown in the photo. The other looks a little too red to me. I think they are both just awesome. A great photo.

I think it depends on what type of application you are going to use the photo in...

To just put into a frame and hang on the wall, I would choose method 1. I like the richer colors. And it does seem a little red to me, but method 2 seems a little yellow... maybe you should print them and see what the "real" difference is.

You are going to get so many different opinions Lisa.I like 1 better. It is a great portrait shot

lol....that is what I was afraid of. Everyone's monitor is different...I will print them in a bit and maybe that will help me decide!

On my monitor, Method 2 is kind of washed out. I liked the contrast of Method 1 (mostly between the paneling above and your subject's face/head) and the depth of color in the paneling. That said, it felt kind of dark...maybe a little more tweaking of Method 1 would get some of the red out, but keep the contrast I liked so much?

I like Method 1 better. Though I almost always prefer warmer tones, especially in portraits. Method 2 looks cooler, tone-wise. This is of course just MHO!

I'm in the Method 1 camp. I like the richer color and more natural skin tone (on my monitor). Method 2 makes him look sallow on my monitor. Can't wait to hear about the prints!

I think it's going to be a matter of opinion. I'm not a big fan of yellow undertones and I tend to gravitate towards photos with more contrast so I'm a method one fan. Like I said though, it's a matter of opinion so it's going to have to be what pleases YOUR eye. I'm interested to hear what you think after you print though.
