With a song as famous as that, how could we NOT think that the state flower of Texas is the yellow rose? And yet... on this date in 1901, the Bluebonnet was adopted as the state flower of Texas. The bluebonnet is one of the state's most popular wildflowers, carpeting huge areas of Texas when it blooms in the spring. So, your challenge for today is to use the bluebonnets beautiful color in a layout! You can post your layouts in our special Saturday Color Challenge Gallery found here. Maybe by next week we'll start seeing them, if there are any this dry dry year. But you are right, the color is fantastic. Maybe I can scare up some from another year. Hoping for bluebonnets in the next couple weeks....hopefully its not like last year though, we had a shortage.
