"There's a yellow rose in Texas, I'm going there to see..." With a song as famous as that, how could we NOT think that the state flower of Texas is the yellow rose? And yet... on this date in 1901, the Bluebonnet was adopted as the state flower of Texas. The bluebonnet is one of the state's most popular wildflowers, carpeting huge areas of Texas when it blooms in the spring. So, your challenge for today is to use the bluebonnets beautiful color in a layout!

You can post your layouts in our special Saturday Color Challenge Gallery found here.

I'm looking forward to seeing all those wonderful layouts!

Sherry, they are not out yet!! Its just a tad early for the bluebonnets. Maybe by next week we'll start seeing them, if there are any this dry dry year. But you are right, the color is fantastic. Maybe I can scare up some from another year. I know you didn't say we have to USE bluebonnets, just the color, but gee whiz, I live in Texas, I should have a bluebonnet picture right?

This Texan loves this challenge! Hoping for bluebonnets in the next couple weeks....hopefully its not like last year though, we had a shortage. :( Joy- thats when we should go on our photo adventure- when the wildflowers are at their peak!

I'll see what I can do with those blues though, thanks Sherry!!

What are the rules of this Challenge? I made a LO about bluebonnets but it is already Tuesday. Am I too late to post? Can anybody post or is this just a special group?

Thanks.

You can post anytime. I haven't done mine yet and will do so either today or tomorrow.
