Debbie, sounds like you are doing great! I've been fussing with sore ankles. Don't know if my Reeboks are letting me down, or if I just did too much out on the propery (grassy, hilly fields--not level walking).
Sorry about your ankles, Kim. I have a pair of running shoes that I got when we lived in Alaska. I was running trails then out on the tundra (ah, the good old days
)...and watching for moose in the willows
I digress. They are specifically for trail running, designed to give extra stability to the sole and the upper foot. Something like that might work for you. I got mine at REI and they had several different kinds available.
I'm getting ready to buy a new pair of running shoes. I've searched the internet, but I'm gonna head to an actually running store and have them help fit me. The shoes I have I really like, but, of course, they are almost 2 years old and no longer made (I don't even know what the style name is). I have a few foot issues (a neuroma on the left, high arches, and some numbness if I wear the "wrong" shoes), so a shoe that actually works for me is WONDERFUL! So I'm gonna take my well-loved shoes with me and see what they can do for me at the store. I hope their prices are OK. I'd feel very guilty having them fit me and then buying off the internet. That's just not nice. <<sigh>>
Hope you're ankles are on the mend.
