I was still a little short but dh had told me earlier this week that if I found something I wanted he would loan me the difference. I didn't need to buy today, but I got so tired of looking and comparing, I just had to do it. I got an HP Pavilion dv7, 17" monitor, 4 MB RAM, 320 G HD, 4 USB ports, multi-card reader, Lightscribe DVD/CD drive, 8 cell battery. I had perused Consumer Reports at the library earlier this afternoon and this computer was designated a best buy. Bought it at Best Buy but didn't get their Geek Squad extended warranty. I'm going to get one through HP. There was an HP rep there this afternoon and he was helpful. I'm set for Convention! And any little local trips that might be happening. bikeneday Posted March 28, 2009 Share Posted March 28, 2009 Way to go, Pat. I have the HP Pavioion dv9000 with a 17" monitor and I love it. I know you will too. We will have to try to meet up somewhere in Omaha one of these days and then we can digiscrap & hang out on the mb in the same place. I did discover that although I very carefully download my SG stuff & pictures to a thumbdrive or EHD, it is all on the harddrive and I am in the process of tagging everything in Windows Photo Gallery. I guess my pics are too big and I don't know how to resize in Windows gallery and I don't have PSE loaded yet. Guess I'll have to post them later. Got the photo resized. Here it is.
