Happy Easter, Passover, and Spring! Anyone wish to guess what our recipe theme is this month?

EGGS! Share with us a recipe based on eggs. If you have never participated in our recipe swap, it is a lot of fun! Create a 4x6 inch recipe card to post in our gallery. If you would like a collection of everyone's cards, please email me a high resolution (300 dpi) copy of your card to demarskda@yahoo.com. The deadline for your card submission is Friday, April 17.

Due to the holidays, our Recipe Chat will be pushed back a week. We will meet in the chatroom at 9pm on Saturday, April 18. Please join April and me to share your recipes!

We have a local newsnetwork who has a chef that does a different recipe everyday. I use his directions for boiling eggs and I've had great luck with it. Here is what he says to do:

Put your eggs in a pan and cover them with water.

Place them on medium to medium high heat and bring them to a boil.

Once boiling, let them boil for 4 minutes, then cover and remove from heat.

Let sit, covered, for 9 minutes.

Flush with cold water to stop the cooking process.

I usually let the eggs sit in a cold water bath for about 15 minutes. Good luck! If I have time, I'll scrap this for the swap!

I do know for sure that if you boil new eggs, they never peel right. They need to be in the refrig for a week or so at least so the shells will come off easily.

You are 100% right! I tried making deviled eggs one year with new eggs and it was torture! The eggs looked like they'd been tortured, too! I learned my lesson. I made sure I bought my eggs a couple weeks ago for deviled eggs that I'll make today.

Oh, I'm in! I made up an overnight brunch egg bake for my daughters graduationn open house and it turned out so good. Hope I get my pc back before then. Otherwise it will be a painful experience making it on this slow desktop, but I'll do it! Promise. I'm glad the chat is postponed for a little bit. Maybe my computer will be as good as new by then. :disappearing-smilie:

Well my goodness, I almost missed this one! Good thing I was subscribed to the recipe gallery and saw all of you getting your cards posted. Now I'm subscribed to the challenge forum, too, so I can stay up on these things a little better. There sure is a learning curve to managing all this site has to offer in addition to just learning how to DSB :)

I got my card done and loaded up ... Creamy Veggie Pasta Poached Egg Skillet.

I enjoyed the challenge of working the the new sale kit VRA Different Color Mini Collection, and I forgot to tell you one more thing that helped in my card description. While I was resting and trying to get over this nasty cold/flu bug that's making the rounds, I read two ebooks from the site

Ten Beginner Tips on Type and Typography Basics. When I remembered the slogan from the AEB "the incredible edible egg" I knew I had to do something to play with type.

Great challenge!

Totally original. I will have to search in my stash of recipes of something that fits this category. Hmm, thinking...(kinda smells like something is burning lol!)
