cyndisa
OK, in PSE5, I had what I think was called an impressionistic brush. I could blur a background and the like. I am looking for the same effect in CS4. Can anyone help me? I've been trying to find it but so far haven't had any success. Any input is greatly appreciated! Elisha
Not sure, but I think it's called the history brush in CS4. someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Zaz
It would be the ART history brush that is hiding UNDER the history brush. See if you can find it now.

cyndisa
Yeah, that's what I thought it was, too - the art history brush, but when I tried to use it, it doesn't work the same as the impressionistic brush did in PSE5. And (yes, I'm terribly slow) I can't figure it out! More help, please!
cyndisa
I'm starting to figure this out, but I still don't understand it. When I have tried to use the art history brush, here's the message it gives me. "Could not use the art history brush because the current canvas size does not match that of the history state." I have cropped my original picture and am trying to use the brush on the cropped version, and it seems that CS4 won't let me do that. If I use it on an uncropped picture, it works fine. Anybody know WHY it won't work on a cropped pic? (I'm one of those people who likes to know "why" about everything. Just call me a four-year-old, when it comes to CS4. )
Zaz
Once you crop it, you can only go as far back as the crop. You can MOVE the art history brush to that point in your layers palette. I'm horrible explaining these things, but maybe someone else can do a better job of explaining it.
