I'm feeling inspired and am finally printing out my layouts (for myself as well as for Mother's Day gift). I've printed a test page to see how my 8x8 layout will be positioned on the 8.5 x 11 paper. It was centered and I'm trying to position the layout so I only have to trim up two sides and not all four.

I tried opening a new document in CS3 (8.5 x 11 size) and used the place function to place my 8x8 sized layout on the page and moved my layout to the edge, but PS gave me an error when trying to print that part of my image would be cut off.

It's got to be easier than this, right? What am I missing?

What I usually do is resize my layout to 8 x 8 (I scrap in 12 x 12) and then extend the canvas size to 8.5 x 11. Will that work for you?

Will your printer print borderless? If not, then you need to position the image in the center and trim all four sides.

I have a "borderless" option in the print setup, so my guess is yes I can print borderless. Should I place it in the 8.5x11 and select borderless?

Each brand of printer has a different method, I think, of printing borderless...I would check the manual to be certain. Printer ink is expensive!

Thanks Shell, that fixed it. And it only took 3 test pages...haha!
