Hi I'm a newbie to digital scrapping and thought I would start out with some templates (They looked to be the easiest to start with). I have read the directions and know how to move my pictures to the spots but they are either too big or too small. I know how to resize photos by dragging the corners but is there a way to get them to fill the space to the exact size of the template ? I have PSE3 and I'm trying to learn my way by lots of trial and error( more error lately) and getting kind of frustrated.
Thanks
kma

I always use the dragging the corners option so that I can make it the right size and you can use the windows to crop your photo a bit too. Make sure to hold down the shift key to maintain the correct proportions (so you don't skew your pictures). The windows may not be the exact dimensions of your photo, so some cropping may be involved.

Does that answer your question?

Have you seen Ro's Scrapbook Secrets for PSE3? It is a great tool. You can learn at your own pace, right on your computer and it goes through all of the tips and techniques you will need to make great Scrapbook pages. They are very helpful!

We are always here to help too, if you still need help! :)
Happy Scrapping,
Melissa Renfro

I have tried this method of dragging the corners to get the photos to the right size, but then if I don't want the template there all the photos are a bit off on their sizes and there for the template was kind of useless. I guess I'm trying to do color blocking like regular scrapbooking and using the template for that and was hoping for a shortcut to having the photo fit into "photo window". Any suggustions or is dragging the corners my only option?

Once you get the photos behind the template, you can select the template layer (Get the marching ants), then switch to the photo layer and hit delete. This will eliminate the portion of the photo that was covered by the template, so when you delete the template, the photo is that size and shape.

Ok maybe I'm just not getting it( I think this is why I have been getting so frustrated trying digital) Is there a more detailed tutorial on how to use these templates (like step by step) I can try? I tried putting the photos on the page and resizing them by dragging the corners and moving them behind them template by picking layer, arrange and yet they still come out the wrong size. I tried to change the template layer to marching ants (select all) then chose the photo layer and hit delete but the photo disappeared, not the portions covered by the template. SO I really must be doing this all wrong and need to go back to very begining. I do want to Thank you guys for helping me out. I really feel like a dummy for not "getting" this. :banghead:
