I am a new digi-scrapper and have learned so much from this site. Now I`m ready to decide what to do with my LOs, print them myself or have them printed. If I print them myself I will need a new printer, mine is 6 years old and I am not sure about its ability to print pitures. I don`t mind buying a printer as it would probably be less expensive in the long run. Now, if I do buy a printer what do I get? :penguins:

I scrap in a 12 x 12 format and then print to a 8X8 or 6X6 so I can print them myself. I use the paper and ink that goes with my Canon printer. I have tried other brands and not had good luck. I am in the market for a wide format printer but decided to wait for now.

Depending on how many I need to print, I will print at home if it is not too much - I have an Epson 2200 wide format. I use 13x19 Premium Luster paper which is gorgeous. I let it dry at least 24 hours before I touch it.

I have had LOs printed at Shiney Nickels with great success. The paper is thick and the quality is excellent. They had some bad reviews on the amount of time it took to get the LOs but that was not my experience. I uploaded about 20 LOs on a Sunday and I received them that Wednesday at $2.00 per page.

Hope this is helpful!
Kathleen

I just got my order from ShinyNickels.com today and I love it! The color registration is perfect and the edges were not cut off - what I submitted is exactly what they printed. I love that they send two free 6x6s with each 12x12 - I plan to make booklets for my kids or the grandparents with them.

There is a white border across the bottom but the other three sides bleed to the edge. Beautiful!

Each 12x12 or 12x18 is just $1.99, with $5.99 flat rate shipping on orders of 10 or more pages. They say 3-5 days for delivery, but mine came overnight - they shipped it on Saturday and it got here Monday afternoon!

Years ago they had a different printer, but now they are back with a wet ink press and the quality is stunning!

Great reviews, folks. I think I'll try ShinyNickels.com for my father's day LOs. Thanks!

I haven't used shiney nickels but I have used scrapping simply & they are fabulous. Great customer svc, very fast, & excellent print quality. They print 12x12 full bleed on thick photo paper for $1.99 + $5 flat rate regardless of prints ordered. They also have a sister company paper kiwi that prints photo books - 100% guarantee & very competitive pricing - the owner answered my call the other day & told me if I found a better deal to let him know because he aims to be the best. LOL I plan to order a book as soon as I can afford it (it's a big book :) )

Thankyou for all this information. I'm unable to find a reasonably priced printer in Australia for 12x12 so will have to take the plunge with O/S. ( Guess depends on Postage to Aus) I have just tried my first printed Album with the special introductory deal from SnapFish. 13cm x 18cm soft cover for $7au. Can't wait to see it. Kay
