I'm super curious how many faithful message board readers have jumped on the opportunity to submit their creative works for consideration during this open call for new Product Designers. Looks like there was a lot of enthusiasm in the announcement thread that Ro posted and several who have let us know that they applied.

While that would be my dream job (seriously), I just don't have the talent or skill, unfortunately. The SG designers are the most talented out there!!

Part of my issue is my eyes, I put off getting new glasses until I knew if I was getting lasik. I am next week, but didn't realize how bad my current eyesight is. Getting headaches staring at that screen LOL.

I sent it in at midnight last night. Unfortunately I never could get CS4 installed on my computer. I was hoping to make some layer styles and stuff to send in. Vista is eating my laptop memory. I don't know if I have the designer talent, but I really enjoyed trying. If not this time maybe again another time.

I dream of being able to be a designer, but I'm not ready to do it yet. I hope to semi retire over the next two or three years and this would be something I'd love to do, but I'm not ready right now. I'm sure excited to see who our next designer is. I know so many of you have so much talent. Best wishes everybody.

I'm working on it! Between the boys and DH they are all keeping me busy! I was hoping for a couple of hours today but had to go grocery shopping who needs to eat! And I've been going through boxes of cloths the boys have grown out of, looking for shorts for Alex but I have no idea where I put them. I found lots of cloths I have never seen before for him. I ended up cutting a pair of sweats into shorts! LOL

It's pretty quiet at work this week so I'm hoping to teach myself a few things in GIMP that I need to get done I have a portable version on my thumb drive I can play with or I chould just stay up all night tonight and finish this project!

Not me. The original reason that brought me to SG was the super talented product designers and LO designers. I am very excited who will be the next star, and what their stuff looks like!!!

About 4 years ago, I considered taking Graphics Design courses at the local community college - while I know they can teach the "mechanics" you've got to bring the talent...I'm still searching for that. Like many others, I have the desire but not the talent!

That's how I landed here too! I'd done a lot of freebie hunting when I first started digi scrapping and was overwhelmed by 1) the number of digi scrapping sites out there and 2) the poor quality of product that most of them were offering. Like really REALLY amateur looking stuff that I wouldn't even download as freebies, let alone spend money on.

Then I found SG. Ahhhhh. What a relief that was to find a place with such high quality and versatility of design! I was hooked and stopped even browsing other sites at that point. I just found there was never any need to look elsewhere. If I needed a particular style there was a designer here who met my needs, and the quality here is unmatched. Gotta love SG!!

I'm so grateful that there are designers here at ScrapGirls that put out their gorgeous things in the boutique every week!

I have no desire whatsoever to design scrapping products!
I work in Photoshop and Illustrator every day for work, with t-shirt designs and our websites, and that's enough for me!

When I come home and have time to sit down with my own photos - I really appreciate the fact that I don't have to make everything from scratch!
And running three companies makes me work waaay more than full time - so there will never ever be that kind of time left! When I have spare time - I travel!

I've even resigned from the CT's I was on, because I felt too obligated to scrap LO's in a specific theme or with a specific kit, instead of scrapping the LO's I wanted for my own and my family's enjoyment!

did not apply. I have no talent in that area at all. I"m like everyone else. Just so happy that I found SG with their talented staff of artist. This is the ONLY site that I now visit. I have no desire to go elsewhere, cause the quality and the people are not the same.

I am excited though to see who will get the spot.

I haven't applied either. I am creative, but I don't have the talent that our designers have here at SG. Let those wonderful people create and I'll buy their creations.

Exactly my story too! All those freebies were overwhelming to sort through just to find one or two things I might like. Plus you can't beat the community support here at SG!

I love putting the layouts together - but I have to leave the product designing to the professionals!! LOL!
Maybe someday - I don't see myself as creative enough to not only come up with the ideas but to make them happen, too!

I actually started making up some homemade designs in hopes that I won't be too late getting my application in. Does anyone have any idea how much time I have left to get it in? It's great fun and I'm loving the process but I don't want to miss some unspecified deadline because I was nitpicking for too long.
