Ideas for gift cards

4 posts in this topic

I'm planning on making gift cards this holiday season. I thought that I'd share some resources for card portfolios. I like to make a matching portfolio when I make gift cards.

Storage envelope for gift cards is like a large envelope for your cards.

Portfolio for your cards This is like the old Pee Chee folders we all used in school. I usually just wing the measurements but this site has a GREAT template!!

Please add your ideas for gifts of greeting cards to this thread.

I like to give a variety of theme cards.

Birthday
Thank You's
Get Well
Congratulations
Friendship
Sympathy
Baby

I decide which themes to give based on the recipient. For older people I might not do the baby announcements but for a young just married couple I might leave out the sympathy. Just trying to guess their needs depending on their stage in life, I guess!

:P Well, If your recipients are anything like mine, they like the cards so much they don't want to turn around and use them. Not that the cards I make have been anything special, but ... I've had it happen twice to me. They get the pack of (seven) gift cards, and just keep them! :)

You'll be able to download some easy to make designs soon from this site. I have been busy making cards that have matching envelopes. Prints out on letter sized paper and includes easy to follow instructions.

Best of all, each designed card includes a plain version so you can add all your own embellishments, ink it, sand paper it, add hot wax, paint, mesh----as soon as our poor hard working Ro gets to my projects and posts them, I'll let you know!

But I'm posting previews to get you excited----here's one:Cheers Card Set
