I started my first scrapbook when I was 9 years old...and just haven't stopped.

I'm 22, will be 23 on the 30th of this month :)

My, just turned, 3 year old son has started his own scrapbook! Ok I admit I helped stick the photos in (he's only done three pages so far) but I didn't even need to ink his train rubber stamps after showing how to do it the first time! I let him put the stamp onto the ink rather than inking the stamp upside down like I do, but it made it a little easier for him and I bought those stamps specifically for him anyway :)

I love that you are letting him play at such a young age. Some people actually think that kids are too young for that kind of stuff and that they won't understand or enjoy it. Just the opposite!

Just give them copies of the photos as soon as he is able to safely handle the child proof scissors on his own and watch out!

I love that he is rubber stamping at 3!!!

He's quite slow with his speech but boy does he pick practical things up! You only have to show him something once hehe.

I let him have a go with the plastic scissors I bought him, they were for kids from 3 years so I just watched, he got them stuck a fair bit but loved it! I was so pleased with him because when we do colouring he just passes me the crayons and gets me to do it, whereas he was all involved with his scrapbook himself!

His album/book is actually a little kids starter kit I bought for him :D

OK talking about this has made me all proud lol, so here are a few photos of him at it - this was just before we moved house (I think a day or two before) so excuse the mess and boxes, I had to unpack a box so he could play with it lol.

I was reading these and holding my breath thinking I was the youngest again. But I am not! I am 25 and have been paper scrapping since I was 14 (however I look like I am 15!). I used to go to the "dots" parties with WAY older women and with no one even remotely close to my age.

I'm almost 24.

lisaedson,
thanks for sharing about your son. It's nice to think it may not be too long before my daughter, who is now 2, can try scrapping with mommy. That would be a lot of fun.

Sometimes I feel the odd one out because I don't have children to scrap LOL.

I don't think you're ever to old to do such a wonderful hobby :D

Just turned 34 in June...
We could learn a lot from crayons...
Some are sharp, some are pretty. Some are dull while others are bright.
Some have weird names. But they all exist nicely in the same box.

AWWW so cute! my son is not yet 2 (i am 24 btw), and he already tries to scrap with me. I have a desk off to the side in our dining room and he is always sitting in my chair and moving stuff around on my desk, and of course taking off with stuff when i am not looking. its so cute how he tries to copy me! i cant wait until he is old enough (not far off, i am sure) to understand the idea and make his own stuff too. we just bought him crayons and chalk last weekend, and he has been writing up a storm.
but yes, i often get weird looks when i tell people i scrap. i have a male friend who makes fun of me and calls me an old maid. i think there is a misconception that older ladies are the ones who scrap, but i know its completely false. i dont know how many of you have heard of or seen myspace.com, but there are scrap groups on there FULL of 20 somethings and older teens. this is truly fun and a bonding time for all ages

I'm 39 for a couple more months. My DH turns 40 next week. :2468who-do-we-appreciate: Now I have to think up someway to get him good without him wanting to get back at me! Wish we had enough $ for me to "kidnap" him for a weekend getaway. I'll think of something!

48. Actually, there is even a stronger myth that scrapbookers are all young and hip and cool.

Did you know that?

In fact, I was fired from a big scrapbooking company because I was "too old"!

LOL

Customer surveys of scrapbookers show that the median ages run from between 35 to 55 (with some older and younger, of course... that is why the median is in the middle there)...

So, in other words... There are tons of kinds of scrapbookers!
