Now That I've Submitted Some Layouts For Publication, how do you keep track of who I've sent them to?

I'm wondering what the best way is to keep track of my submitted layouts, who I've sent them to, and who's published what so I don't duplicate themfor publication? Can you give us some advice on what to do to stay on top of sending layouts in to more than one publisher? Thanks for the great advice. I'm a little nervous now that I've sent them out.

Way to go submitting Rosemary! I use an excel spread sheet to keep track of where I've submitted what and what has been published where. Works really well.

WTG Rosemary! I use Excel spreadsheets for a lot of things like that to keep track of my SB/craft items. Or you can do it the "old fashion" way with a ledger book and then enter each submission, to who, if published, turned down, submitted to SG for Angie, etc., and then you won't have to keep opening Excel and will have it handy when you run a check. HTH! We are so proud of you!!!!

I just don't delete my sent box in my email account. I probably should do as April does, it sure make more sense.

I use a Word document with a table. I have a thumbnail photo of the layout (I'm a real visual person) in one column, the name of the layout (hyperlinked to the file) in the second column, the date I submitted in the third column, to what publication in the 4th, and the name of the call in the last. If I've submitted the same layout to multiple publications, I'll split the rows.
I've thought about making it into an excel file, but I haven't yet.

That's an awesome system Elisha!
For the few times I've done it, I've just kept a list in a small notebook.

I use an excel spreadsheet, but I really like Elisha's idea so I may convert! TFS! And good luck Rosemary!
