I have a pspx brush that does puzzle pieces but not sure where it came from. I searched the boutique and didn't come up with it. I will let you know if I find it.

I don't know which LO you are referring to specifically, but Cheryl Barber's new "Color Me Happy" collection has a puzzle piece alpha that is really cute. Other programs have a puzzle piece shape in their presets depending on what you want to do with it.

I used a filter/plugin called Dreamsuite to make my pieces out of the photo for this layout.. But there are other filters that do the same thing. Dreamsuite is massively expensive and has some bugs in it making some of the filters not work for scrapping. I've notified them and they've thanked me for catching it and said it will be fixed-but they don't know when and have no time schedule. So I'm not sure I'd run out and spend a few hundred dollars on it right now, lol. They do offer a demo/trial but I don't know if it allows you to actually apply the filter or just play around with it unless you buy. Can't hurt to try it and find out.

I'm teaching a class next week on filters and plugins for PSP users and will be going over puzzle filters as well as Dreamsuite. I intend on also teaching one for PSE and PS if there's any interest in it. Is there?

lol...I wrote a line telling Jem to try that mask...then it hit me it was a PSP thing so deleted it. Then I was wondering if your puzzle brush was the one I had either put on my site or sent through Nothing Cute..so started to reply, but then figured no one would understand that so deleted that as well, lol.

Lori - I would love to take your class if you offer it for photoshop. I wanted to take it now but thought it wouldn't help me much since it was for a different program :(

I can't remember either of these layouts so I don't know if you want just a simple puzzle piece or a whole puzzle. If you just want a single one you can easily make it in photoshop. Just use the custom shape - there is 4 different puzzle pieces. Draw one on your screen. Drag your picture on top of your puzzle piece layer. Create a clipping mask. Merge the two layers together, add a bevel to the puzzle to give it the dimensional look.

Just noticed this thread...
I used a Free Photoshop Action that I found at http://www.liknes.no/photoshop/specialfx3.htm
to create this puzzle LO http://scrapgirls.com.ipbhost.com/index.ph...cmd=si&img=8269

I saw Lori's Puppy Dog LO and just knew I'd have to figure out how to do this! I searched the web and found that action, which honestly didn't work as well as I thought it would [The directions make it sound so easy]. Not sure if it was a compatibility issue because I use PSCS2 and the action was tested on PSCS...

Anyways...it took me FOREVER! But, I finally got the result I was looking for.

I wish I could be more help...but filters/plugins/actions I know so little about.

Still learning.... :disappearing-smilie:

Okay, I just went through my PSP X things and figured out that a puzzle thing came with the Creative Xtras 1. I love jigsaws, lol. Never thought I'd use them for scrapping but after seeing some of the above mentioned layouts, well, I just have to follow those leads, ;).

well with only two weeks till we do our first holiday to the states [florida] i just couldnt justify the cost of the dreamsuite 2 series which has so many cool filters on it but then Lori told me you could purchase them seperately and lo and behold thats just what i did. the only thing was me being a bit computer illiterate i kind of found it hard to use even with the manual. however with a few hours practise have managed to do a layout which although fairly reasonable isnt yet where i want it lol.
this is all completely new to me as didnt have a clue you could buy filters to add on lol :blondmoment:

Thanks to all who took the time to try and help me out and to all those who were like me and wondering how it was done so glad you joined me in my search. happy scrapping folks.

xx :dancingcow:
