Ah, well, I'm the one whose husband probably says "Urgh! Wives!" I have the cream of the crop in Bryan, but my urghs come from my almost 4 1/2 year old and my 6 1/2 year old. I'm of the opinion that I hate the age of 4. Despise it. DS is better now at 6, but he drove me nuts at 4. He was nothing compared to his sister, though. I'm just hoping we all survive this age. I know I have the pre-teen and teenage years to contend with, but I actually have more training to deal with some of those issues (I was a youth director at one time). I have NO skills for 4. None. Nada. Zilch.
It's nice to know one is not alone with the urge to say "Urgh" now and then.
Say it all together now:
URGH!!!

This is a great post! But try raising your children the first time and then doing with your grandkids the second time! More patience, but the kids still go through the same stages...right now, 12-1/2 year old going on 20 (gd) in 8th grade and calm 9 year old (gs in 5th grade). If I survive the "teens" again, well that will be an accomplishment....as for hubby's...my is great most of the time, the other times that's URGGGGHHHHH!

My mother always said she birthed 3 but raised 4. Guess I better pull up my boot straps and get the bobo doll ready for business.

LOL! I am laughing about this too! I can feel the URGH, Husbands! issue totally, especially when DH and I are not on the same page about something. But Gary's post made me sit back and realize that yeah, those moments pass and somehow it all works out in the end because DH is just that, my dear husband. (Have to laugh even more because the D in DH can at times mean something else to me, especially in the URGHHH!!! moments)!
Welcome to SG, Gary! Nice to have you here.

Just finished reading this thread, and have to put my 2 cents in. This is all so funny and so true. When my kids were all in elementary school a friend who had teenagers told me, "hon, it's going to get so much worse before it ever starts to get better". That can probably be applied (tongue in cheek) to husbands and wives as well. I've been married 57 years in Sept. and raised four mostly wonderful kids, all either in early 50's or late 40's, and it's been wonderful, but with some speed bumps along the way. I know you've all heard the joke about the lady who was asked whether she had ever considered divorce. Her reply was, "divorce no, murder yes". Doesn't that about sum it up? Didn't mean to ramble so much.
