Piper
Hi I'm new here. Brand new to digi scrapping. I just bout My Memories Suite by Polaroid. I am wondering if anyone knows if I will be able to purchase items from the boutique here and use them in my program?
Bobbi Jo
Hi Piper; welcome to Scrap Girls! I went to the My Memories Suite website and checked under the FAQ section; found this: Question: Can I use clipart and images from other software programs that I have purchased? Answer: Yes, it is possible to use third-party images (such as clipart) with My Memories Suite as long as they are in one of the common graphics formats that My Memories Suite can recognize (JPG, PNG, etc.). Otherwise you will have to convert them using image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop before you can use them in your albums. To use third-party backgrounds, click on the Custom button in the Backgrounds section of the Control Panel at the right side of the screen. Browse to the folder containing your backgrounds and click on the name (or thumbnail image) of the one that you wish to use. Then click OK. The background will be immediately added to the current album page. To use third-party embellishments, you can simply add them as photos using the Add Photo button under the Photos section of the Control Panel. Browse to the folder containing your embellishments and click on the name (or thumbnail image) of the one that you wish to use. Then click Apply to add the embellishment to the current album page. Please note that some resizing may be necessary for the embellishments to look correct. Since SG papers and embellishments are in JPG and PNG format, you should be able to use them. I don't know about the actions, styles, etc. though -- my guess is that they would not be compatible with your software. Maybe someone else will know for sure. HTH! Smiles
Welcome to you and your dog! lots of dog lovers here. The great thing about Scrap Girls products is you can use them with your current software, and if you decide to upgrade at a later time, you can keep using them with your new program too. There's no limit to what you can do with the wonderful things in the boutique (well, I suppose there are limits, but I don't know that anyone has found them)

Piper
Bobbi Jo (or anyone really), I downloaded a purchase and it downloaded as a zip file....it downloaded into the correct folder that I wanted and double checked that it was there. I opened My Memories Suite, went to the custom file and then found the folder but the MMS program isn't showing anything in the folder. I tried adding an embellishment that I purchase (by going to Add photo) and when I found the folder that it is supposed to be in, there is nothing in the folder. Does anyone know what I am doin wrong? the MMS support people aren't open today and I really want to play! TIA, Piper
Piper
Ok, learned something new. You have to unzip zip files! Duh huh. It worked! Thanks anyway.
Bobbi Jo
That unzipping is the least fun part of the process (for me, anyway) . There's a great little program called Extract Now that you can get for free -- does all that tedious unzipping for you -- and it's definitely worth the price! Piper
Hi, Well here is my first attempt at digi scrapbooking. I hope you all can see them. I got 5 pages done in about 2 hours yesterday. I love the My Memories Suite program. Very user friendly. Does anyone else have their digi scrapbooks printed out? How are the colors? Do they look like what the screen looked like? Anyplace I should know about that gives great deals on printing? Also, I love the scrapgirls boutique, but I hope it is ok for me to ask, where else is a good place to order digi scrap kits? Anywhere I should avoid? Thanks, Piper
Sara Arell
Welcome to Scrap Girls, Piper - after reading the posts I see that your questions have already been answered - your software is not a familiar one to me - wish I could help.
brattylatina
Welcome Piper! I had never heard of My Memories Suite until today. I checked out their website and it seems like a great product. I have something else as well as PSE6. I'm a software junkie and now I want this one!
kaclink
I was just thinking of purchasing My Memories Suite and wondered if any one has tried it out. I hate to buy something without getting some feedback first. What I read at their site is that you can create your pages in PhotoShop using your ScrapGirls scrapbooking items, save it as a .jpg and then just put the whole page into My Memories Suite as a custom background. I wanted to use the program for making album slide shows. Any recommendations/feedback of the program would be most appreciated.
