Hey everyone!

I'm in the Pittsburgh area for the weekend for a family wedding, so no workout for me. And I expect lots of dangerous, dangerous eating, but I'm going to try not to worry about it too much. Although I did lose two pounds last week with this pared down diet. (Trying to stay between 1200 and 1300 calories. It's HARD!) Anyway, that brings me back down to 125, but I expect I'll be going back up over the weekend. :( Oh well, it is what it is, right? I'll just work at it again this coming week and see how far down I can get in the next 7 days after that.

You all are doing so well, and being so consistent. That is the key. Pat, congrats on another pound gone! And JoEllen, don't you love when you start seeing those muscles! Love it! Laurie, sign up for that 5K! Just do it! It's a great goal and whether you walk or run, you will be proud to know that you did it!

Have a great weekend everyone! :)
Jan

We started Lean today... now it is a false start as we both have family arriving for the holidays this week so we are individually working out the rest of the week. We will do Lean starting next week. Already I can tell you I like push better, I hate push up s and she does a TON of push ups in Lean!!!

Have a great week everyone!

Jan, I've managed a few days under 1400 calories but I'm usually aroun 1500, so I know how hard that is.

It was a dangerous weekend for me and I was up a pound today, but I'm going to be especially careful through Wednesday. I'm thinking I can handle Thursday ok.

I did a relatively short and easy walk Sunday but did a good, brisk 50 minutes today.

Let's all hang tough this week ladies!

I did Kathy Smith Power Push tonight.

I didn't get in as many steps as I wanted to on Saturday. My DH pooped out on the
shopping way too early :grr:

Hi ladies,
I'm so glad you've been logging your progress & workouts. It's kept me focused on getting back to fitness.

Today was my first day without any Vicodin. Tomorrow I will restart Lean Circuit. I'm really looking forward to it.

I've also decided to buy the SelecTechs as my xmas gift to myself. I've out grown my sports blocks. So now my neighbor can use them to workout with me. Yay, it's win-win.

I'll see you here tomorrow after my workout.

I just finished Lean Circuit 1. I was able to lift the same weight for each exercise but fewer reps. I am totally wiped out. It's amazing how low my stamina is after 9 days without any real physical activity.

MJ, I have a completely new appreciation for your tenacity. You're awesome.

Dawn, I also liked Push the best so far. I suspect I will love Lean once I can actually do some push ups on my toes.

I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to log their progress here. I look everyday and it keeps me focused. Thx again.

My goal for tomorrow is a TJ cardio workout.

I went to the physio therapist's again today. Did my light exercises, and I do feel them in the abdomen, shoulders and arms. It feels good to use the body a little.

Am trying to look into Core work-outs. I have a DVD here, but have any of you tried it?

Good job on getting back into it, Steph! You're gonna love the Select Techs, btw! They're a great set! Oh, and btw, I love the Push Circuit the best, too. :D

I started Rev Abs yesterday, and yes, my abs feel it, as well as the rest of the core, and my triceps and pectorals. Can you say DOMS? lol But it's a good pain, right?
I haven't taken my before photos yet. That will probably happen this weekend. I'm TOMing right now, and after my eating at the wedding this weekend, well, I decided it would be best to wait. ;)

I'm continuing with my 1300/calories a day. It's not only hard, it's boring. LOL But I'm not feeling like I'm starving as much as I was last week, so I think my body is adjusting a bit. I'm trying to be a very good girl, so that I can enjoy Thanksgiving with no guilt. I'll probably continue this into next week as well, and then increase my calories to 1500. Woo-hooo! lol

Hope everyone continues to keep going strong during this busy holiday week! :)

Blesha, it's good to hear that you're moving your body and enjoying it. I'm not sure which workout your discussing. There are so many. If you try it, let us know what you think.

Jan, I'm impressed with your dedication to the caloric restriction. I was wondering if Rev Abs worked more than the Abs. It sounds like it definitely does.

I did the TJ Fat Blaster WO. I was slower than usual but so happy to be moving again.

My goal for tomorrow is Lean Circuit 2. I really want to burn some cals before I sit down to dinner.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone,

I did Lean Circuit 2 today. I really have to focus on my form. I feel like my ab and back muscles have gotten weak after my surgery.

Also, I sat down with a crisp, clean, white piece of paper and wrote down my goals for this next 30 days. I have been avoiding this 'cause I felt like the hormones would make it too hard to reach my goals. This morning I realized that I have some goals that are important to me and would make my life better. I wrote them down & hung them around my house & a copy for my car too.

In the past when I've written down goals I had a sense of dread, rebellion, etc. This time I'm excited and ready for this challenge.

My goal for tomorrow is to do Burn Intervals after work.

Hi everyone, I'm hoping you all had a great Turkey day and are safe after the black friday frenzy.

I did Burn Intervals tonight. I really wanted to work at a 10/10. So, during some of the plyometric exericses when I got off the ground a little bit, I could feel my fat tire flopping around. eeeeewwwwwww. Now there's some serious motivation.

My goal for tomorrow is to do Lean Circuit 3 after work.

My only exercise the last two days has been hanging on to my usually sunny disposition which heads south whenever my MIL comes to visit :disappearing-smilie: Just have to get through one more day, then she leaves Sunday. Wonder how many calories I've burned doing that? I predict a looooonnnngggg walk in my near future, most likely first thing tomorrow morning.

Steph, you amaze me with your persistence. It will pay off SOON!!!

Hope you've all had a great holiday. Have a great rest of the weekend!
JoEllen

It's been a few days since I've checked in. Thanksgiving morning I was down another pound! I got a 50 minute walk in (walked to in-laws house taking the long way around) and thought I ate very reasonably yet enjoyed myself. Friday, I had an intestinal upset so didn't eat very much the first part of the day. We went out to eat at a cajun restaurant before the hockey game (again, had a very reasonable meal.) We parked where we normally would for the hockey game (3-4 blocks from the arena) and then walked the 6 blocks to the restaurant. It was a gorgeous evening for a walk along the Central Park Mall covered with a million holiday lights. I'm hoping to get some pictures tonight and do a layout.

Hi Everyone,
JoEllen, that definitely counts as strength training in my book. You go girl.

Pat, congrats on another pound. WTG.

I did Lean Circuit 3. I can barely type this message. Time for a hot shower.

My goal for tomorrow is Burn It Off and Recharge. Something tells me that Recharge will be my lifesaver tomorrow.

Hello out there,
I did Burn It Off and Recharge. My arms were shaking through Recharge. Wow, the Lean Circuit 3 is amazing.

How is everyone else doing?

My goal for tomorrow is a TJ cardio. I see my doc tomorrow and hopefully he'll clear me for some Ab work.

Other than shopping, I haven't been exercising.

I did get my Shape-ups yesterday & wore them to
the downtown open house event today. My buns are
a little sore. I think I am really going to like them.

Jumping for Joy today! Pushing Play again first thing in the morning. Actually, I think I'll be doing at least some serious ab work tonight. My girls get home in two weeks and I want to greet them in some new skinny jeans. My legs are already ready for them, just think I need more work on the waistline before I go shopping. Or maybe I need to go shopping to see how much more work I need and where. Oh too many decisions, too little time!

Have a great Monday, everyone!
JoEllen

Laurie, it sounds like you got a good workout in you shape ups. I really want a pair. I'll have to put that on my list.

JoEllen, you are so cute. I love that you are getting fit as an example for your DDs. I definitely want to see you in those new jeans. In my opinion, just keep pushing play and buy the jeans at the last minute.

I did TJ Fat Blaster today. I'm just beginning to see some results. My "love handles" are a smidge smaller and I feel thinner inside my fat suit. Yay.

My goal for tomorrow is Lean Circuit 1.

WTG Vaughnde! Don't you just hate it when meds add on the pounds?

I walked my dh's usual route only in reverse direction - plus a little more to make it 2.25 rather than just 2 miles. It's a lot more uphill than down that direction. Whew! I did it in 52 minutes though. That's pretty good for me.

I bought the Wii Fit Plus DVD today on sale at $14.99. I'm looking forward to checking out the new stuff. I here dh turing on the Wii right now.

I've also ordered a DVD with balance ball workouts on it. I really need some core work.

So far today, I've only done the cardio part of my usual workout, mainly because I got up late and didn't have enough time to do the whole thing before I had to go out for an appointment. I'm going to do the rest tonight, and I'm adding a Pilates DVD to the mix so that I can hopefully speed up progress a bit. I'm also getting the dog out for a longer "trot and squat", so that helps both of us :dancingstickman: :dancingstickman: :dancingstickman: December is going to be my month to get myself into great(er) shape than I've been in a very long time. I figure if I can get through the holiday temptations with my waistline intact, I can go on to conquer mountains in January! Oh yes, I've solved my pushup dilemma by doing two sets of 20 on the kitchen counter - the one place where I can do them on my toes! Hoping to transfer that strength down the floor soon.

Steph, I'm glad you're starting to feel thinner on the inside. That means you're building muscles which will soon start to melt off the fat suit. It won't be long before you can go near a bucket of water again!

Vaughnde, you're like me, just keep plugging along as best you can and you'll be meeting your goals before you know it!

Pat, good for you for adding that extra quarter mile! I look forward to hearing how the Wii works for you.

Hope everyone's having a great day!
JoEllen

WTG everyone! It is so hard to keep on program this time of year - I'm the perfect example of what not to do.

I did the next level of aerobics on my KS program. It was 10 minutes longer than the Power Push, but I don't think it was
as hard.

Morning everyone!

It's been at least a month since I've worked out (well maybe just a month I don't remember). I know I haven't had the opportunity to work out since I started back to school (big adjustment after 20+ years of it). Anyway, this morning I finally put my foot down and pulled out my TJ DVDs. Did 20 minutes with Chalean this morning (didn't want to do more cause I'm afraid I'd be too sore to do it again tomorrow).

Feels good to be getting back into it. I haven't been watching too closely what I've been eating but have managed to keep almost all of the weight off over the month.

Seeing this thread pop up on the top 24 hours has kept me motivated to get back into it.

Have a great day everyone!

V, great job with the walk. I'm sorry to hear that you're on the ABx. They do make things tougher. But, I know you're a tenacious lady. I have faith that your results will show up afterwards. BTW, did you find a workout to add to walking? I'm just wondering what your thoughts are on it.

Pat, great job with the walking. An extra quarter mile is fabulous. I'd love to hear your opinion on the new Wii Fit program. I haven't used my Wii in so long, I'm beginning to feel guilty about spending the money on it.

JoEllen, I love your motivation. Great job on the counter push ups. Soon you will be the push up queen. Your DDs will be amazed. I'm having the same thoughts about making it through the holidays strong. I want to have a sizeable jump start on my goals before the new year rolls around. BTW, I want to conquer some of my own mountains. They happen to be located on my body. But not for long....

Laurie I'm so glad you're jumping in at the next level. WTG.

Denise, welcome back. I'm so glad you've gotten the school thing under your belt and now the fitness too. I love the 20 min TJ. The music is so fun & the party train....Woohoo, everybody get on board. It's great.

I did Lean Circuit 1 today. I've been feeling tired the last two days. So, I've been slower at getting the transitions done. But, I'm so glad I did it. I feel rather accomplished. Imagine a rooster puffing out his chest---that's me. Okay, not really.

My goal for tomorrow is some TJ cardio.

Argh! As I was finishing up last night, I experienced a major dizzy spell and may have started to black out. Luckily I was sitting on the floor on my mat, so it was not the catastrophe it could have been. I had felt majorly dizzy earlier in the afternoon too, so I'm wondering what's going on. Needless to say, I'm not doing anything active today that requires standing up. I'm home alone and don't want to wake up on the floor!

Hope you're all having a better day than I am! I love hearing what everyone is doing.

JoEllen! I hope you're okay! Do you think you're coming down with something? Or maybe you're not eating enough! Take care of yourself!

I am thrilled to see all of you still going strong! I am subscribed to this thread, so I get an email notice when there's a new post, but I haven't had the time to get in here and post myself in the last few days. Life has been going full speed ahead since Thanksgiving!

Anyway, let's see if I can remember what I've done. I'm continuing with RevAbs. Today is the beginning of week 2, and I am starting to add some running back into the mix. I'm still staying on the easier side of things since I'm still going to be on the very restricted diet this week. Next week, I'll rev it up quite a bit more! :D

Vaughnde, I know how hard it is, not seeing the results you want, but keep in mind that even if you don't see the changes on the outside as quickly as you'd like, you are still working on your health and your cardio-vascular strength, and that is in many ways so much more important. The outside changes will come. :)

I love what I'm seeing here, and the progress you all are making each and every day. So awesome! And Denise, good on ya for getting going again. I know how hard it is to get it all in. Your health is so important and impacts everything else. So keep on pushing play! :)

JoEllen, could you have been hypogylcemic? Did you have your head below your kness before you felt dizzy? I get dizzy when I don't breathe well - as in, I have a cold or major nasal congestion. I also get dizzy if I'm hypoglycemic. This seems to be more the case for me lately. Oh and I also get really, really dizzy if I take pseudophed and then have any mildly aerobic activity. I've fallen many times from this happening. An experienced neuro nurse told me about the problem with pseudophed and the brain vessels not being able to react quickly enough. Oxygen is lost for a brief moment causing dizziness and/or black outs.

I hope you're feeling better and the cause will become obvious to you. Feel free to PM me if you like.

Okay, I came back to say that my SelecTechs arrived today. Right after my workout. The box weighed 125 lbs. Boo hoo. I was hoping they shipped in separate boxes. So I figured I would disassemble the box on my front step and carry them in in pieces. Well, the directions say to lay the box on it's side and grab the carrying tray with both hands and lift them out as a complete unit.

Deep sigh. I pulled them out to the ground and then I did a sumo squat and lifted them up and carried them into my living room. As full units. I took a few moments to stretch my lower back. I am amazed. I lifted 53 lbs in a dead squat; twice. I love CE.

Thanks for your concern. I'm more than a little concerned myself. I don't think it's hypoglycemia, but my ears are feeling weird like they're congested. If it's not better tomorrow, I will be calling the doctor. In the meantime, I continue to lay low.

Hi everyone,

JoEllen, I hope you're feeling better.

I did the TJ Fat Blaster today. It's a rest day and I really, really want to use my SelecTechs. Alas, I will wait.

My goal for tomorrow is to do Lean Circuit 2 after work.

Steph, the Wii Fit Plus is a lot of fun. There's like 16 new games with a good variety. There are some new yoga poses and strength exercises too. I'm glad I purchased it. I've only tried about six of the new games and I'm really looking forward to trying them all. There also is a new area where you can set up an exercise routine of your own. You can use the ones they have or totally customize one for yourself. Haven't done that yet. It also gives you calorie counts for the exercises and games you do. In the graph area, you can add Steps if you use a pedometer and you can also keep track of your waist measurement.

Boy, what a difference a day makes. Yesterday it was in the upper 50s and I walked for 60 minutes. I just didn't want to go back inside. :) Today, it was in the low 30s and windy. Brrr. I got in 55 minutes though. It was fine as long as I was headed south. LOL

I didn't say anything but I had gone up a pound over the thanksgiving weekend. I'm not really sure how, but I'm back to what I weighed last Thursday morning now. Now to see if I can get rid of another pound by Friday. :)
