I'm so impressed with your tenacity. Should I send you a hand warmer or two?
I know this will sound funny but I read a study many years ago and I just saw it repeated again. The study shows that some women can gain a little extra water weight by smelling certain sweet items. Pumpkin pie was one of the tested smells. Go figure. So, maybe you just got some great pie sniffing done on Turkey (and pie) Day.
It's funny what people can think up to research. I have a few interesting ideas. I wonder if I can get funding for them. LOL.

I got a 5 mile run in yesterday. It was a beautiful day. Sunny and in the 60s. Nothing yet today since I had an early hair appt. And I have a sick boy at home. I'll probably make today my rest day and get back to it tomorrow.
Have a great day everyone!

I ended up doing the treadmill yesterday. I did a total of 60 minutes in two 30 minute sessions. The wind was just too nasty outside. I actually can stay pretty warm except for my face and since I wear glasses, I haven't found anything I can wear that protects my face but doesn't steam up my glasses. Anybody have any suggestions?

Jan & Pat, great job with the running/treadmilling. That last word may not be in the dictionary yet.
I did Burn Intervals tonight. I can't believe how tired I am.
My goal for tomorrow is Lean Circuit 3.

I did Lean Circuit 3 today. I ordered the extra CE workouts and the second collection of TJ workouts. They arrived yesterday and I really want to try a TJ later today. My arms and shoulders are exhausted. I'm really looking forward to a rest day.
My goal for tomorrow is Burn it off and Recharge. It will be great; my body needs it.

I hope you're having a fab weekend.
I did the Fat Burn Challenge and Dynamic Flow Yoga today.
My goal for tomorrow is a little TJ cardio after work.

The dizzy/fainting thing that beset me at the beginning of the week turned into the flu. So my goal has changed from being in skinny jeans when the girls get home to just being healthy. AND I plan to be doing the whole workout more intensely while they're here - maybe they'll join me!?! Gotta make it up to them for raising them in a sedentary home.
Hope everyone else is having a great weekend!

ROFL. OMG & pls don't suggest it to any of the scrub companies. I'm hoping to look as good out of my clothes as I do in them. Ya'll will just have to take my word for it. LOL. It's a big goal but I'm ready to tackle some big goals (now that I'm all grown up. Well, mostly).

I walked outside Friday. It was pretty chilly but doable. I kick myself for not managing to get outside yesterday because the temps were in the 40s. DS came over for awhile just as I was getting ready to go out and it was too late by the time he left. Today was a wind chill of 16 and snow flurries, but I got out and walked for 35 minutes. Worked up a sweat under my coat despite the temp. It may be the last day outside for awhile as we are getting snow and I don't like to take any chances of slipping and falling.
Here's to a good week for everybody.

I've been wearing my Shape ups for shopping, so I feel like shipping is a double

Laurie, I would definitely say wearing the shape ups makes a difference.
I did Lean Circuit 1.
My goal for tomorrow is some Ab work and some TJ cardio. I'm really looking forward to the cardio.

Assuming that the flu doesn't relapse on me, does anyone think I'm totally insane to want to try this? It would have been nice to have had more notice, but if I start training for the walk tomorrow, I think I can be ready. Just need some encouragement!

I am still going strong, with the exercise at least!!
Ok...I'm going to be brave and share some pictures with you!! The before are from Mid-July and the after from last weekend. I have dropped about 15 lbs and a few inches here and there!
Hope your week is healthy and blessed!!

I'm waiting for the temps to warm up a bit before I venture out for a walk, not because I can't handle the cold but because I don't have anything to wear. Here in Weather-Wimpville, we got a "Severe Weather Alert" this morning: High of 55 with winds 5 to 10 mph. Gee, think I'd better break out the muk-luks!
Hope I've given you all your laugh for the day, and make it a great one!

As to your advice for the marathon...if you do join in the 10K I think you should have a friend or someone go with you because its only been a short time for your exercising and you were just laid with the flu recently so you need time to build up your reserves. Its only 4-5 weeks away...perhaps not enough time to build up enough muscle and endurance....I would personally myself shoot for the following year

JoEllen, go for the 5K at a brisk walk. I absolutely know you can do that one. Keep your chest warm so the breathing part will be easier. I'm cheering for you. Alas, the flying monkeys have departed. Maybe I can send them to give you a boost? It's in the 40s & 50s here and I'm a popcicle. I defintely need to shore up my winter wardrobe. I just keep telling myself to wait 'til I fit into my smaller stuff.
Christy, those photos are amazing. You looked great in the before photos but....those after photos are awesome. There isn't any visible part of you that didn't tighten up. Even with the difference in skin tone, it's still incredibly noticeable. Thanks so much for sharing.
I did TJ Fat Blaster & I've Got Abs. My abs are incredibly wimpy since the surgery. I'm going to add more Ab workouts to this coming week. TOM is starting and I'm in alot of pain. My pain subsided while I was working out. So, if the tylenol doesn't kick in soon I might find myself pushing play again just for some relief.
Everyone pls stay safe and healthy.

I did Lean Circuit 2. Typing is tough after all that shoulder work. I increased my weight on a couple of the exercises in the beginning and had to decrease on the last exercise. My shoulders have a fire burning. Fat must make great fuel.
I've been conflicted about what to do after this phase. I really love Chalene's style but I wasn't exactly sure how to continue using her system. The book says "Once you complete the Lean for Life Phase, you can mix and match the order of each phase. Just keep in mind that every 30 days you need to select a new phase."
So, I did a little reading on "undulating periodization". I just read two short articles on it and alot of people's opnions. I have an incredible appreciation for her design. She has really used the principle in maco and micro forms. It's so elegant and complete.
I'm thinking I will continue with CE and just switch it up. I may do the 30 day phasing or I may change phases week to week. That's the beauty of how she built her sets, I can undulate any way I want and my body should continue to change. It'll be a fun workout experiment.
My goal for tomorrow is Burn Intervals & an Ab workout (Burn Intervals is also an undulation built in-so cool).

I hope you're staying warm & healthy.
I did Fat Burn Intervals, which is an amazing workout. My saddle bags are burning up. YeeHaw. I also did Ab Burner. I went back to the original ab workout.
My goal for tomorrow is Lean Circuit 3 after work.

I did yoga for the first time today & was wondering if there is a good substitute for that workout because an hour & a half is a bit much for me right now. LOL I am also not so strong with the plank so the whole plank, chataranga, upward dog, etc is too hard for now. ab ripper X is also too hard right now. The rest I am doing well with so far. Suggestions are welcome.

I've been kind of MIA on this thread recently. Sorry 'bout that! Not because I haven't been working out, but because life is just so hectic right now, I haven't been making it to the boards.
Hey Jenna! Glad to see you've joined us here! And way to go on doing the X. I'll probably move on to that after I finish Rev Abs. Right now, Rev Abs is doing a number on me. OMG! Who knew my abs had so many muscles that could all hurt at once. Add to that my gluts, hamstrings, pecs and shoulders, and my body is having a wonderful time! NOT!
Anyway, glad to see everyone is plugging away. We gotta keep this up through the holidays. Gotta do it, or it could get ugly!

I had a fun experience this morning. I decided to wear a pair of good pants to church. All my jeans are beyond baggy at this point. Anyway, I can remember wearing these to work a couple of years ago and wishing the day would go faster because the waistband was way too tight. Anyway, I spent the morning hoping these things wouldn't fall down. If I didn't still have a derriere, I'm sure they would have! Since I'm home alone today, I stopped at Kohl's on the way and bought a new pair of jeans in a size 12. Haven't seen that size on this body in a very long time! Hurray for me. The legs should skinny up when they get washed. Only bought one pair because I'm not stopping at a 12. Old pants/New pants photo attached!
Hope you're all having a great a weekend as I am!
