There was a lady in my dream the other night who was a combination of Jan and Jillian Michaels - very intimidating! :exercisebike:

I've been taking quite a few walks lately as the weather has gotten so lovely. I've also been sticking with my Biggest Loser Wii workouts, and watching my food/calorie intake. Despite all that, I gained 2 pounds last week. It's frustrating!

You must have been typing at the same time I was, Tiza. Good for you for getting your walks and other workouts done. I found the scale moving in the wrong direction as I was building muscle but before I started burning fat. Please don't get too discouraged yet.

Wow JoEllen, you look like you lost half of you somewhere in the last 6 months. You look AMAZING. I'm gonna have to start training soon if I want to keep up with you.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

I did Cardio Recovery. I'm so glad I did CE first. My flexibility is so much better than when I started. I like this workout. It's all stretching to recover the muscles. I burned 309 cals in 33 mins.

Doing TBR (Total Body Recovery) today, and I'll get back on the CE bandwagon again tomorrow with Push Circuit 1.

Hope everyone's having a great day!

Hey ladies!

I am feeling better again & have been walking on the treadmill as well as just getting more mobile during the day. I am also eating better & drinking more water so that seems to be going well. I have been doing some pre-garden prep too. I think I will be starting a weight workout from Joyce Vedral today - I have several of her books & used them to lose a good amount of weight a few years ago. In fact it was a combo of beachbody & JV workouts that got me to my goal size & kept me there for just over 2 yrs before I gained it back during our home-buying experience.

V - glad to hear it is slowly improving - as far as recliner workouts... hmmm. Try isometrics. Just concentrate on a muscle group - flex & hold the tension for a count of 5 to 10 - repeat that flexing as many times as you'd have lifted a weight to create a set (which would be 8-12 reps most of the time). You can't add a lot of variety, but it will be better than nothing. Isometrics burn calories & add density (or hardness) to the muscle. Hope that helps some. LOL I have also heard that oxygen burns calories (like it feeds a flame) - so get in some good deep breaths with those isometrics - can't hurt, right? Lots of water - water increases the metabolism so that's always a good thing.

Hi Everyone! I just checked UPS and my CE should arrive tomorrow evening! I'm going to take the rest of the week to go over the material and then start on Monday. I'm so excited!

In the meantime I have been hitting the gym 5 days a week for cardio, weights and yoga (on Saturdays). Today was hectic and no gym, but I did walk both dogs when I got home. Trust me, that's a mini workout in itself. Tomorrow it will be back to the gym for a weight day with a cardio warm-up.

Congratulations JoEllen, you look fantastic! I'm glad you are feeling a bit better Jenna. I'll check in again tomorrow.

My biggest workouts are using the walker! I've used it a bit more today to try and do a load of laundry to pack. I'm heading out sometime tomorrow for Medford (whenever my daughter Bekah gets here lol!) Gonna take some crocheting with me too LOL....I think Bekah lives on the 2nd floor not sure so that in itself will be a workout as well.

You look mahvelous, Jo Ellen! Way to go!!

Finished my second round of P90X and am taking a little break before I start round 3, and DH starts round 2. He still needs the help. He slows me down quite a bit, but the man has to get in shape so I'm hanging back with him.

You are all doing wonderfully! I keep promising I'm going to stick around and hang with you all here. I know that it will be easier once the kids are out of school. It has just been a crazy winter.

Hugs to all of you! Keep moving!!

JoEllen (aka runner girl), how do you like the Push Circuit. It's my favorite circuit. I'm looking forward to your review.

Jenna, It's good to hear that you're feeling better. I love that you're combining workouts. I might have to give that a shot too.

Tamara, it's great to have you join us. I'm looking forward to your review of CE.

V, I hope you're having a wonderful visit with Bekah et al. That walker sounds like an intense workout. You go girl. You're gonna have arms like guns soon.

Theresa, you're amazing. Someday, when I grow up, I want to be able to finish the X multiple times. Okay, I'd settle for once.

I was concerned that I might be losing some of the muscles I gained in CE & X. So, I decided to combine workouts (loosely). Today was my first day of doing my new hybrid program. My goal last week was to burn 1500 cals in exercise on my non-work days. This week I'm increasing by 10% to 1650 4x a week.

I did CE Burn Circuit 1 (and yes I have lost a little muscle strength in my arms) & Plyo Cardio (Insanity). I have 285 more cals to burn to reach my goal. Off to the elliptical I go. I can't wait to get my recovery drink. That stuff is awesome.

Cardio & Resistance; TJ Cardio Party 3; 20 mins on spinning bike. Off to get a recovery drink.

I received my CE stuff yesterday and I'm taking the rest of the week to read through it all so I'll start on Monday. I did 45 mins. on the elliptical yesterday, 20 today and some weight training. I took a sneak peak at the Burn Basics and Burn Circuit 1 and I like what I see. It looks tough, but fun.

I'm finding a lot of inspiration from all of you so don't be surprised if I start asking questions in the next few weeks.

Hi Tamara, we have a couple of experts on CE; Jan & Theresa. Several of us have or are doing it. So, ask away. I hope you'll enjoy Chalene as much as I do.

I did Burn Circuit 2; Pure Cardio; 20 min TJ. My knees have been bothering me a little so I'm modifying some of the Insanity moves. I'm not burning as many cals but I'm enjoying the workouts more. TJ is even funner now that I've started Insanity. Still have 247 cals to go today. I'll do some elliptical while watching TV tonight.

Hey ladies!

Can't wait to hear what you think of CE, Tamara! I think you're going to love it. :) Please do let us know if you have any questions.

Steph, you are rockin'! You are so consistent and hitting your workouts so hard! So proud of you, girl!

Hope everyone else is doing well. Dawn, I want to hear how the 5K went!

Let's see, I'm over my cold and able to hit my workouts hard again. Went for a 5 mile run yesterday and felt really good. Working on week 12 of P90X. After I'm done with it, I'm going to do a combo of Insanity and Brazil Butt Lift. My really exciting news is that I bought my first pair of size 2 jeans yesterday! My first pair ever! I really can't believe it! I've never been this small or this healthy. It's really rather remarkable! :D

Hope you all are having a lovely Sunday! Be sure to check in and let us know how you're doing!

Good morning!

Steph, love your consistency and enthusiasm!

Jan, I'm glad to hear you are feeling better and congratulations on the jeans! That's a wonderful reward for all your hard work!

It's an errand/yard work day for us so that's where I'll get most of my exercise. We're hoping to have a few hours to take the dogs on a hike at the local park too. I skipped my yoga/pilates class at the gym yesterday since I woke up late. I did the Fatblaster Turbo Jam bonus workout that came with CE though. Wow! That was intense, but a lot of fun. I was rolling sweat when I finished, but glad to get some exercise into my day. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, and I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi everyone! Hope you're all out enjoying the spring weather!

I had to get out early for a run before it got too warm. In true SoCal schizophrenic weather style, it's supposed to be cool and rainy the next two days. I also started week 3 of CE's Push Phase. I'm amazed at how much stronger I am than I was last week. Even increasing the weight on some of the exercises wasn't enough.

Jan, by the time I'm done with CE, I hope to look as great in my jeans as you do! WTG!!!

Tamara, glad to see you here. I hope you enjoy CE as much as I have.

Steph, you continue to amaze me! Keep up the great work.

Hope everyone is having a great day!
JoEllen

Hi everyone, here is my Burn Circuit 1 Review: Wow! That was intense. I don't think I've produced that much sweat in workouts twice as long. Loved every bit of it and looking forward to the next one. I will need to make a few weight adjustments (some up, some down), but overall a great workout!

JoEllen, glad you got your run in today. It's 77 in South Texas today and very humid. I think I will try to take the dogs out for a walk/run when the sun starts to go down. Great to hear that you are getting stronger! I'm looking forward to that!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day!

Jan, I'm green with envy. A size 2. Wow, wow, wow. I would love to be a size 2. You rock.

JoEllen, I'm so glad to hear that you're moving those weights up. I LOVE it when I can increse my weight. Makes me smile from ear to ear. Between the CE and running; you are amazing.

Tamara, I'm so glad you like CE. I'm on my second round and it feels like coming home to a friend when I workout with her. The people in her workouts are so real too. I would love to have a body like Toni.

Okay, here's my confession. I've been eating out of control at work for the last 2 months. I'm so tired all the time from my allergies that I start eating carbs and then I get into a carb frenzy. It's like a have an insanity button around bad carbs. When I'm home I eat really well b/c I refuse to bring junk into my house. So, I'm actually gaining weight while doing my kicked up workouts.

I'm looking forward to August when the pollen count drops. I guess it could be alot worse. But, it could be better too.

Sigh.....

I did CE Burn Intervals & Insanity Plyo Cardio. I have 171 cals to go. I'll be singing loudly on the elliptical in a minute. The recovery drink is kicking in and I'm feeling better.

A big GRRRRouch from me! I had a job interview this morning (first time in a very long time), and I think I came across as a total ***. The agency that sent me had revised my resume, and I had no idea what the lady was asking me about. On the good news side (actually great news), I had nothing to wear that wasn't going to fall off my hips, so I made a frantic trip to the mall. I found a nice, plain pair of black pants and grabbed a size 12 to try on. I actually had to go back out and grab a pair of size 10s. YIPPEEEE!!!

Tamara, if you think Burn Circuit is a good workout, wait till you get to Push! That's where you really start seeing results!

Steph, don't beat yourself up too much on the eating. I have a feeling that there was a time when you'd overeat and not even be aware of it. So congratulations on being conscious of what you're doing! That's really major! And keep up the great momentum you've built. You have no idea how you inspire me!

Hope everyone is having a great day!
JoEllen

Ok, I have some pre-CE celebrating to do today. The gym I go to had a contest this month with points for showing up, working out, etc. Anyway they did weight & measurements on the first of the month and again today. I've only lost 3lbs (which is still good), but I've lost almost 15" off of the rest of me! Yippee! Today was a rest day so I did cardio and the Ab workout and then did some much needed grocery shopping. Burn Circuit 2 is up tomorrow! :)

JoEllen, Congratulations on the size 10s! That is exciting news! I'm sorry the interview did not go well. Hopefully it means something better is on the horizon. I'll keep sending those positive vibes your way.

Steph, I agree with JoEllen about the eating, recognizing it is a good first step. Don't beat yourself up over it.

JoEllen, it has been my very recent experience that crappy interviews usually indicated crappy work environments. I'm so glad I didn't get that job I wanted so badly. The boss is an egotistical ***. And I didn't even have his resume to tell me that LOL. BIG, BIG congrats on that size 10. You'll be rockin' a size 8 soon girlfriend. And thanks so much for the encouragement.

Tamara, Wow. 15" is a HUGE loss. Wow, wow, wow, & wow again. And thank you for the encouragement too. You're both so sweet.

I forgot to log my workout from yesterday. I did Burn Circuit 3 and Cardio Resistance. I'm getting the hang of staying in my HR range by doing the moves slower and more consistently rather than working in frantic bursts.

I'm at work today & tomorrow so will not be working out.

I did Burn Intervals and Extreme Abs today. First time on the XAbs...I'll just say that it will take me a while to catch on to this one! I also got out for a run with a little extra resistance provided by Mother Nature (headwind). Of course, she also gave me a little boost on the return trip! :disappearing-smilie:

I just looked back at my last message and notice that I got bleeped. I can't remember what word I used, but I do apologize if it offended anyone before it got cut. I don't usually use "language".

Tamara, 15" is absolutely amazing! Don't know what your goals are, but you're gonna ROCK CE!

Steph, thanks for your encouragement. I don't think my hip bones are going to let me get into a size 8 - the perpetual blobs that have resided there are no longer an issue. However, I am VERY happy with a size 10! Keep up your great work! I'm sure your work burns quite a few calories by itself.

Hope you're all having a great evening!
JoEllen

Yesterday was busy and stressful and got topped off with an hour-long traffic jam on the way home (cue whining). I did Burn Circuit 2, but kept getting interrupted by the phone (DH is traveling) and I know my form was off so will strive for better next week. (whining done). Good news from yesterday is that I did get a lot of things done that I had been putting off and even happily weighed in at the doctor's office.

Today was a much better day. Kept the stress levels down at work, remembered my allergy shot (which I forgot yesterday). I took the dogs on a long walk/run and then did Burn Intervals and Ab Burner. I'll need to put down two mats before next time; one is not enough on the tile floor.

Steph and JoEllen, I'm learning a lot about what to expect and what to watch for just from reading your posts. Great job on the workouts.

Is it just me, or has it been awfully quiet in here this week?

It has been awfully quiet, but I love our steady, consistent gals that come on here! That's what this is all about. That's how you make the changes that we all crave, by being consistent, moving every day and eating right - making the right decisions on both of those things every day.

Mike and I and the boys went away for the first few days of this week, since it's Spring break. We did get a run on the fitness center treadmill in on Tuesday morning and then spent the rest of the day at an indoor water park. That was fun, even though I felt awful. Samuel was coughing during the night, so that woke me up. I got up and gave him some medicine and then didn't fall back to sleep for a couple of hours. Not fun. So I was a waste most of the day. But anyway, went out and got a 5 mile run in today. Haven't really been following the last week plan for P90X, but it's pretty much just cardio and core, so I figure I'm at least getting cardio in. :D

Tamara, it sounds like you're doing great, in spite of the obstacles. The mantra that Tony Horton uses is do your best and forget the rest. That's the best advice you can ever get. As long as you're out there moving and giving it your best, the rest is gravy. :D

JoEllen, you are amazing, and I'm so proud of you! Well, like I said at the beginning, I'm so proud of all of you.

And now, it's been a busy day of talking Beachbody and lining up people to send Shakeology samples to, so I'm going to go and play some games now. BTW, if any of you want to give Shakeology a try, just let me know and I'll be happy to send you a sample.

Got home and fell asleep in the recliner for a while. Okay shower went well and I am glad I put the fold up step stool in there to help me with balance. Doc appt not so good. She is NOT happy with me becuz I fell last wed 3x remember? so anyway...my foot looks better but not good enough and I am to stay off my feet for the next two months until I see her June 1st. If I put any weight on my ankle I could break it....thats the part from the shooting pains down each side of the ankle that comes and goes. My lab work I had done before I left is iffy. Kidneys are fine, sugar count is fine, oxygen in the blood is low but I don't have asthma. We figured out its because I had the fall and walking with the walker does take a lot out of me breathwise as well as the pollen count going up and down with my allergies. Now the kicker.....liver function is not at 100% capacity which we also think is attributed to my injury. Cholesterol count is high...too high so I'm being put on cholesterol meds until I am able to be active again this summer. In the meantime I gotta put some spinach and broccoli and some other fresh fruits and veggies back into my diet. Apples are not easy for me to eat but if I cut them up small enough like for a baby I can eat them then. I'm not crazy over oranges for some reason but I can handle a orange milkshake...things like that. If you have any ideas for veggies or fruits I'd love to hear them! I'll be grocery shopping next week as my food stamps come in on sunday but I'm spending Easter with my parents at their church.

I cannot stand or sit over a stove or oven too long. Computer time is also restricted the same as before 3 or 4 short 10 minute bursts because it hurts too much to have my ankle down too long...it needs to be up.

And now, it's been a busy day of talking Beachbody and lining up people to send Shakeology samples to, so I'm going to go and play some games now. BTW, if any of you want to give Shakeology a try, just let me know and I'll be happy to send you a sample.

Jan will this work for me being laid up with my ankle as much as I'm supposed to be?

Wow Vaugnde! I'm so sorry you're having to go through all of this! Shakeology would actually be wonderful for you right now because it has all of those nutrients that your doctor is saying you need right now. Unfortunately, it is rather pricey. Each back (30 day supply) costs $119 and I know you're on a restricted budget. Would it be possible for any of your family to help out with this?

I would still love to send you some samples. I can send you both a Chocolate and Greenberry sample for you to try, if you'd like to PM me your address. I can get them in the mail to you next week. Also, if you'd like to point your family or your doctor to some place where they can see what this is all about, give them this one: www.shakeology.com/coachjan.

JoEllen, I wouldn't worry about the bleep. I doubt anything truly offensive would ever cross your mind. I agree on the X abs. It's a great workout. I'm really looking forward to taking the Chi Running seminar. I really would like to begin C25K this summer.

Tamara, great job on the workout. Soon the dogs will be chasing you.

Jan, it sounds like you had fun getting away with the family (even with the sleepless night). I can't wait 'til I can casually log on and say "I went for a quick 5 mile run today".

V, I'm sorry to hear that your foot isn't healing as quickly as the doc wants. I certainly understand the frustration of being non-weight bearing. I'll be sending prayers and healing energy your way.

I took 4 days off of working out. My chronic pain had become acute. So, after 2 days of taking ibuprofen every 4 hrs, I got back in the groove today. I have an appt on the 14th to talk about seeing a specialist.

I did Burn Intervals, Pure Cardio, & Cardio Abs. Total cals burned 1330. It's a little shy of my goal but I'm happy with it.

Happy Easter everyone.
