WTG Joellen. Did you get the Sketcher Shape-ups? Do you feel stable in them. I looked at them online & they looked
like something I could fall off of easily

Sara, I was thinking about trying the Yoga Booty Ballet. If you get it, let me know how you like it.

If anyone else has used Yoga Booty Ballet, I'd love to hear what you thought of it.

I'm peeking in here - school started this week, so I'm hoping to get into a regular routine of exercise again. I need to, desperately. After seeing Jan's in-person BeachBody results, I finally ordered the BB program I've been eyeing up for months. It shipped today.

WooHoo, Becca!!!! Which one did you get?

That Project YOU one, Laurie. It came on Friday, and I had a little time to check it out. The meal plans are very do-able, and that kind of surprised me. I only grocery-shop every other week, so next week, when I go, I'm going to start that meal plan. This week, I promised myself to get active at least 20 minutes of the day. And so far, so good. Saturday, I hopped on the treadmill; Sunday, I took the dog for a walk through the woods. And today's the treadmill, as it's raining this morning.

C'mon, Laurie, get out those Project YOU disks and start with me next week, OK??

PS. I'm all up for an early morning walk during Convention!!! Who's with me??

On Saturday my youngest child and I went to a get-together, and I was quite active. We walked to and from train and sub-way too. Yesterday I went to a gathering by myself, and walked to and from buses to get there and back home.

Hi Becca, I'm on day 6 of week 1 on the workout calendar. It is taking everything I have to keep doing it everyday.
This thread really helps, because I want to come here to post that I did my workout!

Morning all. Haven't checked in here in a couple days. Looks like everyone is doing really well.....AWESOME!

I worked out on Saturday (cardio) like I needed to and Sunday was my day of rest. Food wise, well ... I wasn't TERRIBLE but I wasn't great either. Had pizza for dinner on Friday and ice cream (I crave cookie dough ice cream like most SG'ers crave chocolate) on Saturday night. Hadn't had it for almost a month so I didn't feel bad about it at all....and it tasted yummy ... carvel :).

Anyway, today is getting back on the horse day. I'm not feeling the desire to work out this morning but thanks to this thread, I am going to go do it shortly. It's a strength training day. I sent the Power90 DVDs back (Tony's cardio just was NOT for me), however since I had created a spreadsheet to track my progress, I can still do the strength training program. Going to order Turbo Jam either today or tomorrow (depending on how busy I am) and can't wait for that to come. Hoping it's much more my style than the P90 was.

Have a great day everyone! I'll try and check in later after my workout.

Laurie and Denise, way to hit the workout, even when you don't feel like it. I didn't feel like it today either. Must be something in the air here on the east coast. :D I'll also blame it a bit on TOM. My energy level is really blah today! But I did it anyway. UGH. Max Interval Circuit. Mike did it with me. His energy level was about where mine was, not to mention that he is only half way through the first month of Insanity and this is a second month workout. We made it about 45 minutes through it, and then called it quits.

Our eating wasn't perfect this weekend either. We splurged on ice cream, too, Denise! This was on Saturday after we did our workout and all that gardening, so I didn't feel too badly either.

Anyway, I plan to spend the rest of the day on my recliner working. :D

Have a great day everyone! :)
Jan

I'm back from my crazy weekend of running around! Too many eating out meals trying to get the kids moved into their residence halls, but lots of walking because we parked once and then walked wherever we needed to go on campus. I totally ate too much dessert at the reunion yesterday--so many good pie choices (but I just cut slivers and not the whole piece). Now on to a new week....

JoEllen - LOL!! I did that the other day -- I stepped on the scale, & it was insanely low... I was thrilled. :D But after getting on and off several times, it went back to normal. Drat.

I was pretty good this weekend, food wise. Not perfect, but not bad. I even exercised on Saturday. I think you're all right about something being in the air, because I'm not really in the mood to work out. I'm also hungry this morning -- what's up with that? I just ate an omelet, and usually that is more than satisfying to me. Argggh. All of that talk about cookie dough ice cream, maybe. ;)

Anyhow.. I've got Lean Circuit 1 on the schedule... I can do it. I can do it....

Now, if I can get my behind off this chair, I might actually do it. :)

Keep up the good work, everyone! Yay, Jan -- good job getting your workout in! :D

I totally don't feel like exercising today. It must be Labor Day. I've got some house cleaning to do as our landlord is coming on Tues and hopefully I will get in the 2 mile walk video.

I don't know when I will have the money to get Yoga Booty Ballet. I am a little nervous about spending money on the video when I don't know how my knees will handle it.

Just got back from 2.2 mile walk with the kids. Actually it's a practice walk to school with their backpacks. They are going to start walking to school tomorrow! And, it's exercise to boot, so I am happy about that. They feel like it's cruel and unusual punishment,I just chuckle, knowing it's the right thing to do and they can complain all they want. And the family has built in excercise. They'll get used to it!

I had a pretty good day yesterday. My net calories on MFP are looking good. I only did a 1.25 mile walk though, so I could have done even better. The biggest challenge for me has been making myself stick to my eating plan. I really didn't want to make lunch yesterday. I had a frozen dinner calling my name, but I managed to resist and make something healthy. We ended up getting a Hamilton Beach blender and are having a smoothie a day for snack for the last several days. We're calling it a $20 experiment, and if we're still really using it in a few months, we will trade up to a Vitamix. Anyway, it's been fun to take a little of this and a little of that, mix it up, and drink it!

Yes, Laurie, I did get the Skechers Shape Ups. They make you walk with a rolling motion which works all the leg muscles and the glutes. I've worn them all over the place and have never felt like I'd fall off of them. I've attached a copy of the sole (cute socks optional). It adds about an inch to my height, not that I'm vertically challenged but some people might appreciate it.

Have a great rest of your holiday, ladies!

Well, sounds like many of you have been busy over the labor day weekend! I survived my camping trip and pot luck and random food passing around the fire with flying colors!! :) I got up before the family on Saturday and Sunday and got a 40 minute power walk in. Resisted ALL desserts at a family potluck on Saturday and fudge and seafoam and on and on...camping seems to be an eating frenzy! But I did good! :) If tomorrows check-in doesn't show any results, I will know that it was just one of those weeks and not for over eating.

JoEllen, you will have to let me know if you get a Vitamix. I love mine and use it for a lot more than smoothies! I am still determined to get some wheat kernels and make my own flour :)

Way to go for all those that worked out, even when you didn't feel like it!

Becca, we will definitely fit in some walks and exercise while at convention!!

I am glad to be home and to get into this new week, with a new schedule, now that school is starting!

Blessings!

No 'official' workout here, but I did a major cleaning of the main bathroom. We're talking deep cleaning the scum and grime, washing walls and ceiling, etc. Chalean couldn't make my arms any more rubbery than they are now!

I'm hoping I can get over this sinus infection and start feeling like doing the whole workout thing!

Good job resisting the goodies, Christy. I was SO not good.

On to a new week!

Didn't get the workout in today, but we were doing lots of cleaning today. I am making Jan's WW CC cookies. According to my son the cookie dough was really good and cookies are better than the dough. I'm not sure I agree as I love cookie dough, but that is a good sign :D

JoEllen, those shoes look really interesting. They would make shopping so much more of a workout. I might have to look into those at some point.

Well, being good over the weekend paid off...I am down another 2.5 lbs this week! :) That puts me past the 10lbs lost mark!! Wahoo! I think it was someone who does weight watchers said you get a gold star for 10lbs?? Gold star for me today! LOL!!

Vaughnde, sounds like you had a very productive day...here's to a quick easy move!

Today is Regan's first day of First grade. So, after pictures and sending her off, Sage and I are off to the gym!! Getting Regan up and off to school each day should make it that much easier to get me up and off to a workout each day! LOL!

Happy healthy day to you all!!

Hi All,
Eight days since beginning and down 7 lbs. WOO HOO Lots of bloat gone and made it through the weekend. Ate fairly well although I need to add more veggies so will work on that this week. Sometimes I forget to eat inbetween my meals. Have had some real cravings but was able to get through them. Am beginning to walk each day and knees are doing ok. Will push harder each day. Water goes down easy as it is my drink of choice.

Keep up all the good work girls. Good to hear how you are all doing.

ok ... today it's the official start of the week... weekend not excellent but too too bad... did not exercise yesterday but did 100 situps and 50 side leg lifts on each side... so today is raining so I'm planning on doing Gillian's workout ... oh man oh man ... I've just had a burst of scrap mojo so I've been doing that as much as I could this weekend :)

Wow those shoes look cool Jo ELlen ... were they expensive?

Christy, that awesome!

Vaunghde, that sounds like a workout to me :)

Fran, I wish I was 7 punds down ... nice work.

You ladies are all so encouraging and inspiring... I know I'll start loosing soon... I want to loose just about 8 to 10 pounds and get leaner. :( I'll start with getting my water in today ... after the 2 egg, half a toast and one strip of bacon for breakfast ... I know bacon... my DH made it and I didn't want to hurt his feelings and discourage him :disappearing-smilie:

Yall have a healthy day!

Congrats to those that have lost and those that are finding it easy to exercise! You're all doing a wonderful job! My scale hasn't budged but that's fairly normal. Couple more weeks and it should start decreasing again.

I'm still in unmotivated land... YUCK! Did my tae-bo but I don't feel I did it as well as I could have. Still I guess the fact I did it is good. Haven't logged MFP in a few days either. DD got me hooked on Farm Town and that's not helping things any :). Jan I love your 'get fit farm'. I need something like that. Maybe I'll name mine 'Workout City' or 'Exercise your Muscles' or maybe given my lack of it these days 'Motivate to Exercise Farm'. I don't know.

I did do pretty good last night. DH decided it was a 'holiday' so the girls could have a 'special dessert'. He was taking them to Ritas. Well, they didn't have any flavors that I really like so .... ready .... I didn't get anything ;). I'm a rootbeer italian ice lover. Rootbeer wasn't in their flavor list yesterday. Oh well.

OK ... my mantra to try and motivate me again ... 'I LOVE to exercise. I LOVE to exercise. Exercise is fun! Exercise is FUN!'

Hmmm.... maybe I have to run around the house singing that today for it to sink in?

Later gals!

Denise- I love your motivation chant. My boys have taken to exercise each morning. They get up and make circuits around the interior loop (how do kids always find some kind of circular route through a house when you never noticed it?) They call it their exercise. I have avoided putting anything breakable in their path, I hope.

I didn't get up to exercise this morning. Apparently DH woke me up and I went back to sleep (I don't remember this though.) So exercise is going to have to wait until the house is cleaned up. Maybe I can squeeze it in this afternoon.

Christy - great job on losing 10 lbs. It is a gold star in WWs.

Sorry I haven't checked in lately. Life is crazy busy. I did work out yesterday and weighed in. Total of 5 pounds down in 3 weeks so that's good. Not as fast as I would like to see, but is it ever? LOL! I'm an instant gratification kind of girl. LOL!

I didn't get my workout in this morning but I'm going to put both kids down for a nap in a minute (usually it's only one) so I'm planning on getting something in then. Maybe the treadmill, maybe Wii Active. Maybe both! We'll see how I'm feeling once I get started.

I'm doing pretty decent with the food. Last night we had "Fetu Skinny Alfredo" and roasted cherry tomatoes for dinner. It was really pretty good! And I even made it with whole wheat pasta! Yay me! Tonight is Pecan Crusted Chicken and Roasted Cauliflower (I'm really hoping I don't cut up my hand again ... me and cauliflower don't seem to get along that way. LOL!)

Becca ... I'm going to get in on Jan's workout the first day at least. After that I might workout with her or go for a walk. I'm definitely up for getting in some movement before the action starts. At least for the first couple of days. No guarantees once the lack of sleep takes over. LOL!

It sounds like quite a few of us had challenging eating situations this weekend. I know I certainly did but I was happy to see I was only up a 1/2 lb. today. I should be able to lose that relatively quickly. I was especially proud of my self-restraint yesterday at the in-laws. They have TWO candy dishes out, put out cheese and crackers, and offered FOUR different desserts! I had one cookie for dessert and then about an ounce of cheese and a couple of crackers for my late evening snack. Whew! It is soooo hard to resist all that temptation.

I marched with the pipe band in a parade yesterday. It's the first time in two years. I was concerned about making it the last couple of block (uphill) but I made it all the way and felt great.

Got my 50 minute walk in today and have Tai Chi tonight.

Shari, I'd be ecstatic if I lost 5 lbs. in three weeks. I'm lucky if I can achieve one lb. a week.

Blesha, good for you for getting out and walking. I hope it feels good for you to do it.

I got into the pool tonight after work and did all my therapy exercises, then treaded (?) water hard to get heart rate up. Took Sat night and sunday OFF from the diet and am hoping to just maintain weight this week. Needed a break and hopefully didn't go overboard! The scale will tell!!
Treadmill tomorrow night...

With a new battery in the scale, my weight was still at an amazing spot - 25 pounds below my non-pregnant high! WooHoo! Only 10 to go to my first milestone! At that point I'll re-evaluate where I want to go. I know I'll be looking and feeling better than I have in a long time, so I'll probably need some major motivation to take my fitness to a new level (hi Jan!)

I had blood drawn this morning and hope for some excellent results from the doctor next week. I have been on the verge of diabetes for a while, so my weight loss and increased activity should make her very happy with me! Not that I'm doing it to please the doctor, but it would be nice to get a pat on the back from her.

Glad to hear you're all doing well despite the temptations offered by the holiday weekend. Let's all get back on track and have an amazing week!

Hi Everyone,
I've been loosely following this thread. There's a ton of activity so I feel like I've missed some info.

I've been doing Barry's Bootcamp on all my non-working days since the 19th. I've lost 4lbs. Which seems really slow considering how much time & effort I'm putting into the workouts and my eating.

I low-carb. I have for years. So, counting calories and keeping white carbs low is relatively easy when I'm working my plan.

Today I finally ordered Chalean and Turbo Jam. I'm not getting sore from the Barry's resistance bands anymore so it's time to step up my game.

I have scanned through the posts and I can't seem to find the one about workouts during convention. I really need to stay motivated during convention. If I go 4 days without exercise, I will have a heck of a time getting remotivated.

Is there a gym at the guest house? Is anyone planning on bringing their weights and DVDs?

I should have my beach body workouts next week. Until then, I'll continue with Barry.

Thanks everyone for letting me jump into the middle of this. And for letting me know what's up at convention.

Hugs,
