I will kick off this week check in. I was up a pound this week. I have an infection in my elbow so I haven't been working
out as much as I should and it hurts so I've been having a little pity party too

We had a celebration at work today. It started out with donuts (I skipped them) my boss's homemade fudge (I had to have a
piece - it's the best) and pizza. I took a salad and ate it at my desk before lunch and only had one piece of pizza.

Laurie, sorry to hear about your elbow, I hope it heals quickly. You can't stop living for a diet, so we do the best we can. Here's to a great week this week!

I was down 3 lbs today. I had to go to the office and didn't have a chance to log on to WW so I spent the day thinking it was only .5 lb...I forgot my weight from last week LOL. Was a nice surprise this evening when I logged it on the site.

My weekends away are done (at least for now) so I'll be sticking to program a bit better. Have a great week, everyone!

Hello All! I didn't check in last week, so I'm checking in early this week. I went to a WW meeting today with my college friend, Winnie (we went to college together back in the dark ages) and it was a wonderful meeting. I was so uplifted and psyched when I left. I really should go more often. Maybe I'd knock these last pounds off. Yes? The big recipe talk today was the chocolate pumpkin muffins that were shared here, so if you haven't tried them yet, believe me, they're worth it! I was down a pound this week, so I'm happy to have something to report. Oh, I'm writing down as well. That sure makes a difference.....writing down and measuring everything.....works every time! I hope all of you have a wonderful week and we'll see (figuratively speaking) less of you next week!
Dee
PS I'm hoping next week to report more weight loss AND that I'm a great grandma!!!!!!!

WTG Dee. Meetings make all the difference. I'm sort of bummed that we only have a half hour meeting here and only once a week.
I really like the hour meetings

Way to go everyone!!! :2468who-do-we-appreciate:

It's been awhile since I checked in, but I'm on week 9 of WW and I am down 11.4 pounds. I made my 5% goal two weeks ago, so I was really excited. I go to Wednesday night meetings, so I haven't weighed in yet this week...but I know it hasn't been a very good week. My birthday cake plus pizza two nights for dinner (although it was the DeLite pizza from Papa Murphy's which isn't as bad). I'm just hoping I didn't take too big of a step backwards.

On a positive note I just got a Wii Fit as a birthday gift and loving it!

Down!!!!! Since the Convention, I've lost 5, count'em, five pounds. Seeing everyone there in person and the amazing transformations, totally inspired me. Since I came home, I've really been eating so much better and exercising a little more.

WTG Girls! Sounds like everyone is revved up for the week. I'm up .5 lb this week. Not sure where that came from, but will work on it this week - I had a dinner to attend today and a retirement luncheon tomorrow - so some challenges for this week.

Have a great week everyone!

Surprising news! I managed to lose 2 pounds this week despite birthday cake and pizza...guess my metabolism is really working! That brings my total to 13!

Congrats on your 5 pounds Sandi!

And Vaughnde, some of those recipes are actually pretty good. I find most of mine on the WW website, but I've been consistently surprised and happy with the majority of the recipes I've tried.

Hello girls, I hope you had a great week! For today's weigh in, I was down 2.5 lbs (net 2 after last week's .5 gain). My total now is 26 lbs....lots & lots more to go, so I hope I can stick it out LOL.

One big accomplishment for me this week is that I've done Wii Yoga Sun - Tue. I plan to continue, and build up my time and tolerance, but I really need to schedule an appt. with a knee specialsit so I can be sure I'm not damaging my knee further. That's something I'd like to accomplish this week.

Looking forward to your check-in's after the Halloween holiday!

Have a great week!

WTG Michele! I also lost 2.5 lbs. this week. I'm feeling so inspired. In addition to WW, I signed up with Janice Taylor's Holiday diet. Janice Taylor (Our Lady of Weight Loss) has the funniest approach to losing weight and she's artistic. On one of the links from her website or blog, she shows a mint tin box she made to hold her affirmation cards. We have darling mint tin templates in the boutique and I'm going to start making affirmation cards. and make one of those little boxes to keep them in. Losing weight and scrapping, what a great combo!

its amazing that how a little progress helps the motivation stay up. Its when you get those little gains and plateaus that the motivation is harder to maintain. I'm doin better with more frequent weighings. If I monitor things more closely I can make little adjustments sooner and little setbacks stay little. One day last week I jumped up a little, thought about what i had eaten the day before and realized where I took a wrong turn, then stopped that. If I hadn't done that, I may have missed it and a little gain would have become more than just a little. I'm not compulsive about it and sometimes its every two or three days, but I think its helping me stay on track, contrary to what WW recommends. But then I'm pretty contrary anyway. LOL

WOW! Everyone is doing so well! I'm up .4 but I'm not worried about it. We're leaving Fri for Tx to visit my bro & wife and they're real healthy eaters, so I've challenged myself to lose 2 pounds in the 2 weeks I'm there. I'm only 5 pounds from "not having to pay" at the WW meetings and I'm determined to be there by Christmas. Those last pounds are so hard to lose, and I'm on prednisone which makes it doubly hard. I guess I should be grateful that I'm maintaining! I'm taking my laptop to Tx (my S-I-L wants to learn digi-scrapping so I'm going to introduce her to ScrapGirls) so I'll check in next week. Everyone have a great week!
Dee
PS I already shared this in the Grateful Grannies section, but I have a great granddaughter.....Teagan Mae.....and I'm quick to say that I'm a young great "Grandee"! :)

Dee, that prednisone will add weight, but mostly water. It does stimulate your appetite though. and Congrats on the new great grand. I hope you have a wonderful time in Texas and enjoy the healthy eating. You can make your goal by the end of the year.

Hi everyone,

I joined Weight Watchers Online yesterday after a visit to a new doctor and set it up to do my weekly weigh-in on Wednesdays without even thinking about there being a group here at ScrapGirls. So when I look at the new messages this morning and notice that the reporting is Wednesdays, I'm thinking, "This must be a sign!" LOL

I spent last evening exploring the site and calculated what I ate yesterday. Sooo not good. This is going to take a lot of willpower, quite frankly, something that I do not have when it comes to food, but I will develop it. That's why I'm telling you guys. And my doctor wants me to write down what I'm doing to change my lifestyle. She actually suggested WW because her sister has used it with excellent results. I've got to manage my fibro as well as possible so that I can do the things I want to in life and take care of my family the way I want to. I need to not only exercise but take some of this (well, a lot of this weight off.) I think I'll like the points system. I also think it's really neat that I can use activity points for additional food points if I'm going out to eat (which thankfully is a rare occasion) or something like that. I like that everything I'm eating and doing is there for me to track.

Sandi, you need to go with what works for you! I think if I weighed in more often, I'd be tempted to report my lowest (not current) weight on Wednesday's LOL.

Dee, have fun on vacation and enjoy healthy eating with your family. Maybe you'll have some decent weather there in TX to do some outdoor activities, too! It's great you'll be sharing digi-scrapping and SG with your SIL - hopefully we'll have a new SG here from TX... ;)

Welcome aboard, Crystal! Someone had started this Wednesday thread so when I joined, I made my weigh in on Wednesdays. Works out pretty good - if you have an "oops" on the weekend, you can ensure you're good the rest of the period to try and stop any really bad back slides :)

Enjoy your week girls!

Crystal, I do WW online too and I found their MBs to be full of weidos and some very not nice people, so I rely on my SG friends for the support part of it and the rest of WW online for the info and tracking part. Working good so far. Welcome to the club here. I hope you'll be very successful.

This is my 1st month to not have to pay for WW and my 1st weighin which I was down .6 lbs from the last time. I am just going once a month now for weigh in. If I start to creep up I will go weekly. At home I have to weigh every morning. I just have to know what I have to do for the day that way. I wish I could still get online to see recipes with being a lifetime member but you can't. Keep up the good work everyone.

I did not have a good weigh in this week. I was up 2.6!! I haven't been tracking, planning or exercising enough. I think that some
medication I was on for my elbow helped me lose the last couple of weeks. I have been getting cocky thinking I could cheat and get
away with it. It sounds wierd, but I needed to have a gain to get myself back on course. Next week will be better!

Checking in a day late. I'm visiting family in Texas and am trying to stay on program, but it's been hard. We've been going on day trips and have eaten out a lot. As of yesterday morning, I hadn't gained, but I know how things can sneak up on me. Next week we won't be traveling around so much, and I'm determined to not have a weight gain. Laurie, hang in there. You have identified what you need to do and you have our support! Where is everyone else this week?

I'm a day late too, but I'm down again. I'm doing much better by weighing almost daily. One day I was up 3.5 pounds. I looked back and for two days had been eating salty foods so I quickly adjusted and in 2 days it was gone. I do tend to have big fluid gains if I'm not careful about salt intake. I love V8 and tomato juice but they are really high in sodium. I do drink the low sodium V8 when its available. So far, since the first of October I've lost 8 pounds which is the first significant loss I've had for over two years. Its taking some real effort some days, but mostly seeing some progress is keeping me going.

Hang in there everyone....we are in this for the long haul.

I did my first weigh-in yesterday and I had lost 5 pounds! I'm still a little in shock and not quite sure if I believe it. But I haven't been on Lyrica since last Tuesday and that caused me to gain 11 pounds in 2 weeks when I first went on it. I did pretty good though following the plan and wasn't anywhere as hungry as I thought I'd be. I resisted temptation, although I didn't do a very good job exercising. I did do more than usual though, which is a start!

Wow, Sandi! 8 pounds since Oct 1st is awesome! You're right, it is a long haul and if we embrace this as a lifestyle instead of a temporary "diet" we can psychologically handle it better. Crystal, medication can play havoc with our bodies, but it sounds like yours is regulating and you'll drop that extra weight. That happened to me with the prednisone. I gained 20 pounds (without the appetite they say you get with it), but now I'm just a few pounds from goal again. Patience is truly a virtue when it comes to our bodies. Have a good week.

Hey gals, last week kinda flew by for me...I've just not had time on the MB like I have in the past, which is a bummer. Checking in this week, I lost 2 lbs for a total of 28, which is 99.5% diet as I did the Wii yoga 3x one week and haven't since.

I did see a sports Dr. about my knees. Specifics are, mild to moderate osteoarthritis in both, worse in the left knee. Wear and tear on my meniscus. PTD is unchanged, and I've lost a lot of strength in my knees from the PTD damage/protection. He's not a surgeon (which is why I saw him) and prescribed PT for my right knee which is now the worst. He said the best I should expect - with lots of hard work from me (LOL me and that darned *exercise*) - is 75% improvement, they'll never be at 100%. I'm going to be fitted for a brace, they're waiting for a shipment with the sizes I need to try.

Anyway, back to the diet....I'm going away this weekend, so will work hard to stick to it since next week is T-giving and I'll be traveling again to visit family. I'm hoping that by planning to take a break for 2 days while I'm with family, I'll be good to jump right back on Saturday.

I hope y'all had a great week, I look forward to being inspired by your posts!

Hi All! Still in Texas and I'm maintaining. We have been sooooo good this week, so I'm hoping when I get home Sat to my own scale, I'll show a loss Sunday morning when I weigh in. I do like weighing in daily because it shows me what foods cause me to retain fluid etc and I've missed doing that here.
Been teaching my SIL what little digi-scrapping info I can share. Today I'll get her signed up on the scrapgirls site. My bro bought her PSE8 two days ago, so yesterday we spent the whole day in the Organizer so she could transfer photos into it to scrap. Also shared my 'organizing scrapping stuff' system and we set up some folders on her desktop. Today and tomorrow we will actually get to the scrapping part. Since I'm pretty much a beginner it was good for me to be the teacher. The best part is we had to remind ourselves to stop to eat. That's very different for me!!!!! One of the pluses of digi-scrapping!
You all have a great week. Good luck this weekend Michele, and I'm sorry about your knees. Not fun!
