Hi Ladies. I got sick of sorting through years worth of photo's everytime I had an idea for a LO. I currently have them organized by year, then season with sub-sub-foders for big events like vacations, parties etc. This was working...two years ago. As I ussually come up with an really cool idea for a LO, then find the pictures that would work with it, I really need a way to tag them. I had Picassa installed years ago, but didn't really know how to use it to my advantage and just got frustrated. I'm looking for a program that is/will:

  • Free
  • allow me to tag pics
  • easy to use/basic (I have PS, so I don't need red-eye and all that)
  • Relativly small GB-wise

Not to be too picky. Any advice would be wonderfull.

I would recommend Picasa for tagging your photos. It has a great search in it for when you are looking for photos. I have also found that the search does really well finding items I need when scrapping as it searches any text on the picture file. It is one of the best free photo organizers in my opinion.

If you have Windows Vista, Windows Photo Gallery is available to you. That's what I use and so far, so good!

I like Picasa better than anything I've used. But you know, this is a very individual thing; not everyone likes the same thing.

Picassa 3.5 is the newest updated version of Picassa.
You should check out the new updated version.
Picassa has added new features in 3.5.

Without trust, honesty & loyalty all your friendships will turn to dust, be a friend worth having, be a light in the sky.

I use ACDSee Photo Manager, but if you are looking for free- then picasa seems to be a good choice.
