This year's Connections Live was more relaxed, more fun, great food, great friends, lots of newbies that we encouraged to get in the forum with us, etc.

We had a wonderful time, learned some useful techniques and received a beautiful kit by Valerie.

All good things must end, but we allowed the atmosphere to linger awhile. Still, we must head home soon.

Thank you Ro and the team! We love you!

I can't compare DSL 2009 to last year's, but I concur that it was a fun and educational 3 days this year. A beautiful setting, vibrant ladies (and a couple of brave guys) from all over the globe, classes taught by the pros.....a can't-miss combination. The best part was meeting all the great scrappers. Digital Scrappers ROCK!

I had a wonderful time. The Purple Shirts were totally wonderful (and patient), especially Paula Wright! She and her thoughtful husband, a Renaissance man, I hear, went out of their way to mark my birthday. I had never even met her before! I learned a lot, but for me, more importantly, met and ADORE BobbieJo! What a kind and sweet friend! I met lots of amazing women I hope to call friends. To be in a room full of women, and a few guys, all like-minded, was SO cool!

You could tell Ro and the Purple Shirts put their hearts, minds, and muscles, into making the convention a fun and productive time. I really appreciated seeing the beautiful city and surrounding areas too! Although I left by 4, my husband and I are roaming the area, taking as many pictures as I can!

I hope I am able to attend any future Scrap Girls Conventions!

It was truly wonderful. I felt pampered and spoiled the whole time.
A special AttaGirl to Paula Wright for her hard work on the logistics side of things - everything went flawlessly.
(I know loggies generally are under appreciated, and no one realizes what all they do until things go wrong. Nothing did!)
The classes were wonderful, but the time to visit and get to know each other was the part I treasure the most.
Thanks to everyone for making this time so special.
:)

Well, I made the drive home safely, even though I did get snowed on for a part of the way. I can't say enough about the wonderful weekend spent with scrapgirls (and guys) from all over. I loved the hotel, the meeting room, the food, and especially the opportunity to meet so many of you. I had such a wonderful time thanks to all of you. A special thank you to Ro and all of the purple shirts for putting together a fabulous convention. You all rock!

Ditto to all the above. I can tell a lot of work went into the event :thankyou:
I had a great time, learned lots, and enjoyed meeting so many ScrapGirls!
And, I've been talked into posting more, and actually adding a photo avatar. OK, OK, I'll get that done! :happy039:

It's been good to be home. DH made sure the house was clean (what a guy!) and made sure I knew I was missed. Got plenty of cuddles from my 12 year old son (how much longer will THAT last?) And even the animals were happy to see me.

It was fabulous and I am already missing everyone. I am so glad you all had a great time...the best part for me was just meeting so many of you. A big thank you to Paula for all her hard work...so really went above and beyond.

While it was nice to be home in my own bed...I miss seeing purple shirts at breakfast! I miss all the hugs and smiles and chatter. The first thought in my head when I woke up was "I wonder what classes we'll have today"...and then I saw my cat sleeping on my chest and remembered I wasn't at convention anymore.

I'm glad to see that the attendees are making it home safely. Thanks again to all the SG staff for everything!!!

See you on the board and boutique :)

What a great event, it was so awesome to meet so many of you and to have time to visit in person. We are so blessed.

Robert said he really enjoyed meeting people and he said he was going to have a difficult time explaining what it was like to his friends. He said you all had to be some of the sweetest people he'd ever met. But he was looking forward to some quiet. ;) He kept calling Zaz Taz and when I corrected him he said she reminded him of a tazmanian devil (in a good way) and she's always be Taz to him.

The mischief makers were quite a surprise, I appreciate all they did. It was ever so silly!

Thanks to all the purple shirts, the entire team at the convention and here, back at the ranch went all out and they are so appreciated. A special thanks to Paula for all her behind the scenes work and for actually cooking food for the team for a lunch and a dinner!

What a time we had! Mwahhhhh to you all.
Valerie

I have to agree with Robert! It was hard to explain to my husband just what it was like... meeting people in real live person only to find they were as wonderfully kind and considerate as they were on the messageboard. I can't compare to last year but this year was FABULOUS! Thank you to all!!!!

I miss all of you so much. I had a great time and my scrapping mojo is back. I'm really looking forward to working with my camera in Manual mode, using RAW and taking the leap to layouts as art.

I had exceedingly high expectations & it was better than I could have imagined. I also wish we all lived close by.

I'm already planning for the next one. Hmmmm......wonder what that could lead to......

Many heartfelt thanks and hugs to all the purple shirts, Ro, V, Paula, etc. And a special hug to all the SGs. You all proved that you're even better in person than on the MB. As amazing as that seems, it's true.

Hugs,

It sounds like everyone had such a wonderful time! How good to hear :2468who-do-we-appreciate:

It sounds like soooo much fun - I can be so very introverted, so not sure if I could do it, but my heart was there and I thought of you girls this weekend!

Glad you had a fabulous time! :party-smiley-048:

This year was definitely better than last year. I didn't even know it was possible. I am looking forward to getting together again. It would be great to be in a neighborhood of Scrapgirls.

Miss you all.

I agree with some of the other participants. It didn't seem possible that this year could be better, because last year was great. It seemed more relaxed and we had plenty of time to get to know the ladies we talk to all the time on the mb. I'm so grateful to all the staff for their hard work, and it was lots of fun to get to know the designers. I'm not sure it can be explained.

It was super duper fun this year!

Big squishy hugs to Paula for all her hard work! I know it took her many many hours to pull it all together.

Zaz as Taz - lol! I can't think of a better description... unless you add the technicolor. ;)

I don't know what else to add, except big hugs and thank you's to all who made this a wonderful convention. From the minute I walked through that door on Thursday until I left on Sunday, I had the most amazing time. I hope things work out so that there can be a next one.

I agree with all that's said before...this year was amazing fun...and I have no idea how SG could do it, but made it better than last year! TYVM to Paula, Ro, V, and all the purple shirts that made this possible. A neighborhood of purple houses would suit me just fine :)

Yes, a special thanks to Paula--the hostess with the mostest! You have a beautiful way about you and your words expressed sentiments that brought tears to my/our eyes. Thank you.

Like you've mentioned, it's hard to get across to someone who didn't go just how great it was. But that doesn't mean I don't try. Can't stop taking about it. Am sure my hubby would willingly send me back just to hear silence for a few minutes. LOL

Got home Monday night and started looking for others who live in my area. Can't believe northeastern OH doesn't have lots of Scrapgirls. Guess I'll have to recruit them myself. I need to be with girls like you more than once a year!

Robin if you ever get the chance to go please take it. I'm highly introverted too and did not know what to expect the first year, but it truly is like meeting old friends.
I went back this year (even better) and I'm sure the new people I met would have never guessed that I'm really shy at all.

I want to add my thanks to Paula, Ro, and the whole team for all their hard work and to all the SGs who treat each other like family. I miss you all!
