Help
The flight was delayed 4 hours in SLC and then we headed to New York JFC to get another crew to fly to Paris. I could sleep a bit on the flight. Then in Paris ... a disaster. Missed my correspondance flight to Lux, booked on another one already in SLC, but I was badly informed in Paris and they never actually confirmed me being on that flight, but they told me they had. Then a security check failed where this error would have been detected but it hadn't. So I waited at the gate thinking that everything was alright. When I wanted to board they informed me I wasn't confirmed. I broke in tears ... after 18 hours of travel and a whole day in SLC before getting on my plane I was too exhausted. I was lucky that I was at that moment taken care of by a friendly man who quickly got it all fixed making an exception. Thank you for all your prayers. You can see they have been heard. My luggage didn't make it due to that error, but I am here back home. My kids are sleeping ... can't wait to hug them tomorrow morning. Will crawl to bed now. Hugs!

I am back home. After 20 hours of travel, endless waiting and tears ... I am back home. I am so tired I can hardly write here, but wanted to inform you about me getting home safe. So glad you are home. What an exhausting ordeal. Makes my measly 15-minute connection in Phoenix seem triffling!

If it had to miss a connection, it's good that your luggage didn't make it going home instead of coming across.

Caroline, I am so sorry you had all those problems getting home. I may have told you that I hate the Paris airport, and would rather take a beating than fly through there. I am thankful that someone helped you and salvaged it for you at the last. Enjoy being with your kids and rest up from your ordeal.

Thank you girls! It feels so good to have friends like all of you are! I had a good night of sleep and was so happy to see my boys in the morning. Lily is still sleeping. My husband came to pick me up at the airport together with my brother yesterday and that made me really happy. And yes, this bad experience will NOT keep me from coming back to the US next year. I mean, I have a voucher from Delta over 200$ as compensation for the delay and the inconvenience ... I need to use it right and as long as I have my family backing up at home, even a longer flight will NOT keep me from coming to the US to meet all my wonderful friends. You are all in my heart!!
