GatorGirl
Hi everyone! I recently obtained a tutorial on how to use an element to make a 'punch out' for a corner or accent on a page. Unfortunately, it was written for PSE 7. I tried to use it with my PSP X2 program, but couldn't get it to translate over. I want my paper to look like I hole-punched it. (like when you use a hand-held hole puncher). I know someone out there has mastered this technique. Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks, Karen
countrydi
I'm sorry but I don't know. I did just pm you though.
Sarah in VA
If you have a .png or .jpg of the element you want to use, turn it into a PSP Brush and then use the PSP tool Eraser to make a punch out. If you don't know how to turn this into a brush, let us know.
tiza126
I did some playing with PSP2, and found one way to get that effect: First, take the paper you want punched, and create a new layer above it. Use a brush in the shape you want the punchout to be, and stamp on the blank layer. (I did my brush in solid black.) Using the magic wand, click on the area you just stamped, to select that shape. Without deselecting, click on the paper layer again, and press delete. This will remove the stamped area from the paper. Hide or delete the stamp layer. Now you can apply a drop shadow to the paper layer, which gives it the effect of having the hole-punches. I hope this works for you. Let me know if you have any questions. I'm sure someone will come along with another trick, or better directions lol

Heather09
I've always wanted to try this technique (and thought it couldn't be too difficult, but wasn't sure how to do it). I went searching for some information about punch outs and found this Scrap Girls thread. Thanks Tiza for your awesome explanation
