This year I am determined to set out to do some of the holiday, home decor projects that I have always wanted to do.

#1 on the list is to make a pinecone tree display using various old candle holders, Pinecones & ribbon. I wish I had a picture to show.
#2 A button tree
#3 I would love to make some kind of collage with photos from Christmases past and just hang it during the holidays.

What do you have planned to add to your Christmas decorations?

I haven't thought this far in advance. This is my first year having a place all to myself, so I can decorate it how I want without sharing with a roommmate!!! But I have some ideas:

1) Make a collage or wall-hanging out of the old Christmas cards I've received.
2) Use my scrapping supplies and some old picture frames to make some artwork to hang the walls.

Your pinecone tree and button tree sound interesting!

Oh, we have the cutest button tree that my oldest did when she was in kindergarten. It helped that as a seamstress I had a lot of cool buttons. :)

I made little ornaments of family photos (faces extracted) on cardstock circles a few years go. I outlined with glitter glue, and they were really cute. They were easy enough I could do a set for everyone.
Now that Michaels has those beautiful ornament frames and frame ornaments, I would just print the photos and insert. In fact, I have quite a number of those frames in my stash...
We put a foam core tri-fold covered with Christmas fabric blocking the fireplace opening (it cuts down on drafts, too) and pin our Christmas cards to that. In front of it I have a little red basket I keep the envelopes and the Christmas card list organizer in.
I haven't thought far enough ahead to think what I will do differently this year - so I'll be following this thread.
:)

I usually make one or two new items a year. Two years ago I made a Victoria Santa that turned out quite well. This year, I'm making one for my Mom's place.

Here's a picture (one that we took for our card this year).

]I supply construction paper, plain white paper and scissors, glue and glitter. I let the kids go at it. My back window is already covered in a paper snow scape with giant paper snowflakes falling. We make hand print wreaths and various fun project. I got a list from somewhere and put it in an advent calendar.

I purchased five 8x10 artist canvases and I'm going to create layouts at that size and adhere them to the front. I'll paint the outside of the canvas form. I LOVE Christmas!

I'm with Conda, Christmas already? I'm working on Halloween cards and I think I'm ahead of schedule. Apparently I'm way behind!

This year I think I want to do something to remember all of our foster children as the years go by. Maybe something like ornaments with their pictures on them and the year or something.
